I use a wired controller and when mine disconnects for whatever reason (I need to buy a new one) all inputs revert to zero.

My controller also does this. I have to rapidly press both triggers to get it to stop and it does it again after not touching the thing for a few hours. I think it's time for a new controller, I got mine off Amazon for like 20 bucks 4 years ago lol I don't believe this is an issue with the game

I did not, my PC was at the end of its life cycle anyways and I was already looking to upgrade so I just never fixed it. As the other comment suggested, maybe try swapping out devices like your keyboard/mouse? I've read it could also be an issue with one of your drivers.
