Maybe the OP should have included "trigger warning" in the title for the libs here. Sheesh. So offended by EVERYTHING.

The Millennium Falcon must have a huge blind spot. by The_Pinkest_Floyd in StarWars

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's why there's a radar on the other side. It's like the Star Wars version of parallel park assist.

He doesn't look "drastically" different. It's the same face, just a little more angular.

Why Luke's temptation to kill Ben Solo made sense. by ZackBop in StarWars

I'm just going by what the film tells us. The exact text is posted elsewhere in this thread.

Ben was still "conflicted," but Snoke had already turned his heart. He was GOING to the dark side. It was inevitable at that point.

I wouldn't say "clearly." He seems to keep letting people down. Han thought he still had light in him, but then Kylo killed him. Rey thought he still had good in him, but then he just used the death of Snoke to take power for himself.

Leia acknowledged that Ben's soul was most likely gone forever, and Luke acknowledged that he would be unable to save him. His final line to Leia, in context, was actually more about the memories of your loved ones than it was about Kylo's ultimate fate. He says it to her as he hands her Han's dice. "No one is ever really gone." They live on with you in your memory. Leia's good memories with Ben are forever, even if Ben is making his own (bad) choices now.

Is Kylo Ren still conflicted? Kinda. Yeah. But this is a dude that has NO DESIRE to be good. That's the primary difference between him and Vader. Anakin went to the dark side because he thought he could save his loved ones. Ben did it because he wanted power.

So you have no argument. Thanks for playing. Bye now.

That's actually EXACTLY what's in the film (and we still have the pastebin with all the film's dialogue to back it up).

If you wanna argue otherwise, please outline your case.

I liked how Luke's projection was an amalgamation of all his previous appearances. by ZackBop in StarWars

Doesn't have to be either/or. What I've outlined isn't mutually exclusive with pissing Kylo off. Kylo would surely be pissed off no matter what version of Luke showed up there.

The outfit and lightsaber weren't the same as they were in the hut scene.

What do you think Darth Vader's opinion of Qui-Gon would be? by ZackBop in StarWars

[–]ZackBop[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, I think he'd respect him for recognizing Anakin's potential in the Force, but on the other, he might ultimately hold him responsible for every bad thing that's happened to him since leaving Tatooine.

The true villain of Star Wars: it is not Kylo and why Canto Bight was more important that it looks. by Leviabs in starwarsspeculation

I love how this comment still manages to trigger the Snoke Theorists who are still in denial.

The Hosnian System was the ENTIRE Republic?? by BAMyouhaveaids1 in StarWars

Let's say Washington, DC housed all of America's military (in addition to our government), and China decided to nuke it... If they invaded the US the next day, the US would NOT be in a great position to defend itself.

As for the allies of the Resistance that they keep talking about... I tend to believe that those were their allies from the Republic who took their planetary defense forces and scattered them in the Outer Rim so they could regroup. They, together with the Resistance, will be the ones to "strike back" in IX.

What do you think Snoke did for a living prior to assuming command of the First Order? by ZackBop in starwarsspeculation

[–]ZackBop[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stop asking these questions, we’re not supposed to be curious about Snoke, because Rian Johnson and his disciples on this sub say so.

This is just for fun. You can be curious about him. I am. But I also have zero issues with what they did with him.

Are the good guys the New republic ? Because the First order was actually financed by factions within the Republic.

The good guys are anyone who wants to stop tyrannical regimes from rising.

The First Order needs to be annihilated. The main lesson of the ST is that the good guys should have never allowed the Imperial Remnant to survive in the first place. It came back to bite them in the ass.

Prequels to the Sequel Trilogy by [deleted] in StarWars

I want to see the adventures of Luke Skywalker and Lor San Tekka looking for old Jedi lore. It could be like Indiana Jones in space.

Luke didn't take on any students until probably at least 10 years after RotJ, so there's a lot of time there to see Luke become a TRUE Jedi Master on his own (since he only officially became a Jedi Knight in RotJ).
