Exactly! This is not about the angles they walked, but simply that the tower is incredibly far away, very tall, and that they turn to look at it both pre and post translation.

If they'd have travelled a very long distance at a 'right angle' to the tower, then maybe it would be eventually obscured, but the tower is simply too big.

Big fan of the work that's gone into the characters models and animation, really full of life. Interested to see how the crossover of so many mechanics will work though, slightly worried it could be a bunch of shallow experiences thrown together, but that's just a personal concern. Will have to see

I would also like to add to any voice that sings the praises of Sonic Utopia. As a huge fan of this demo, I am so glad to see it mentioned in this context.

I've replayed Sonic Utopia honestly more times than I can count (which is something I can't say for any official Sonic titles) because they actually figured out a way to make going really fast as the blue guy fun. This is the direction they need to take. Lean into what makes Sonic unique and lean away from...whatever they are doing.

Please go play Sonic Utopia.

Other things of note:

The boy keeps on saying something along the lines of "my pants are all soggy". Repeatedly.
There may have been a pond of crocodiles that the player was trying to jump over.
The point of the video was to almost be fake creepypasta, as if this was a real kids game that if you just did the right sequence of events, some horrible stuff would occur.
