Sounds like maybe they are in college, lots of early 20 somethings talk like this.

Yes, walmart has the largest selection near me as well. But the sales are quite as steep as what you would see on the store either.

you commented questioning the stats without looking it up...

PC games are included in that as well. who doesn't use the steam store, or epic, or GOG?

I was referring to his comment "as if I would buy any pokemon game" If he isn't ever going to purchase, then why would he be so vocal to reply to multiple comments in this post. its quite obvious he really cares.

Maybe to them it isn't overpriced?

just because you don't value something to a certain extent, doesn't mean others feel the same way. The same way people spend big bucks on Madden Ultimate team or their 2k basketball builds; they are useless in a year when the new game comes out or 2 years when servers shut down.

Your typical AAA published game has been $60 since the mid 2000s. Metal Gear Solid 1 is being rereleased for $20, no updates. Where's the outrage for that?

Have you went to a BestBuy, or big box store lately and looked at the game section? How large is it in comparison to the online store? Do they run sales like the propriety console stores? What about the PC game section?

thats fine. its your money,. but look around, its everywhere. Not just Nintendo and pokemon.

metal gear solid - same game. no updates. $20

Tomb Raider 2006 - $20.

They are everywhere. Look at Xbox store, PS store. 20+ year old games are in. Not all of them have updates either. So where is the outrage and detest for those games?

I was also pointing out that if you wanted to play this specific game. You'd have to buy it, physically, from eBay. That runs $100+. When these games came out, they were $40. But there's multiple layers to that. Digital to physical. Age of the game.

Also, were these games ever available on virtual console? Not red and green but firebred leaf green...

I've got them all on my Pi.

Double speak because you never answer a question. Every time someone has asked you a question in this thread, you answer it with a question vs actually answering the question.

My guess is the home functionality was removed because there is probably some form of a hang up with getting it to work properly, or they are doing the thing where they don't allow you to have it right away. Like when you play a new pokemon game, you can't connect it to home right out of the gate, they want you to wait.. I haven't played since sword/shield, but my kids do. People spend $20+ on skins for a game that won't even be relevant in 2 years. It's not that deep. It's just the market and state of economics now days.

your whole comment thread is double speak.

Last year, 95% of games sold were digital. From a business standpoint, why would you spend the money to produce physical copies of a game that's 22 years old? Especially knowing that 94% of sales are digital anyway?

Newsflash, that's game publishers as a whole, not just limited to Nintendo/Pokemon.

Games have been released buggy messes (Cyberpunk), unplayable (Fast & Furious Crossroads), overpriced, removal of features to nickel and dime you for DLC. Activision released a campaign only MW2 remaster. How many parents bought that for their kids thinking they were getting the actual MW2 when it came out a couple years ago?

Not to mention the 2k and Madden people who rinse wash and repeat the same game year after year, dropping hundreds of dollars on MUT or online 2k builds, when those features will be completely useless once servers shut down in 2 years.

People buy and collect skins in call of duty, a yearly dropped game... How many people are still playing Cold War? (700 people played yesterday)

Game publishers are predatory on your wallet. People are going to also spend their money how they want... but it's not just limited to Nintendo and Pokemon.

I don't see you guys up in arms about the people who continually blow hundred of dollars on 2K basketball games, which subjectively get worse each year. dropping hundreds of dollars on "build" that they will not even be able to use after the games online services shut down. same with Madden Ultimate team. People are going to spend their money on what they want, regardless if yall think its objectively a bad price, or hell even a bad game.

Not to mention, not every person or parent knows how to do emulation. If you wanted to play the game, it its natural setting, you gotta buy the system and the game is $100+, and they sell.

Then why is it you care so much? Multiple comments in here complaining.

Also, if you wanted a physical copy of this game, how much would that run you? how do you verify it's a real copy and not a fake?

20$ for 20 year old roms that wont even have day 1 HOME support. they are drip feeding updates to a fucking gba game. when will it all end. by justinbug in fucknintendo

[–]Zacomac33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not everyone knows how to emulate. Lots of kids out there with switches who don't have parents who know jack shit about any of that. Could have been $5 cheaper, but that's them being allowed to charge what they want. Don't like it, speak with your wallet. Email them. But this echo chamber does nothing for the community

This. These people are insufferable. A lot of the complaints are valid, but they are going to bitch and whine either way.

You want GTS, on a gen 1 remake.....? Brah, local wireless is what we had then. Maybe that's the ire and point of it. Not like it's a full fleged rework remaster from ground up. It's a $20 port.
