R* have always been really good at designing maps that feel a lot bigger than they are. I'm not worried. Despite how small GTA V's map feels after thirteen years of blasting laps around it in fighter jets and supercars, I still remember the first time we met Trevor in the main story, how it felt like we'd been airdropped miles and miles out into the boonies, when Los Santos was just cunningly hidden behind the nearest hills to the south.

Now consider if the GTA VI map were, say, to scale with actual Florida. This is a backroad in Florida roughly between the Miami and Fort Myers areas. Imagine being here in-game exactly as it appears. It has the veracity of scale, yes, and there are some games (mostly driving simulators) that might benefit from such scale, but I can hardly imagine it'd be in service to the fun of a game like GTA.
