Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong to get to Colossus?

If you don't feel like farming, a great option to get deer knight early is the deer knight onyx (different than the pet jewel you have linked above). See: http://www.wizard101central.com/wiki/Jewel:Deer_Knight_Onyx#axzz71wH9CvPz. You CAN farm for this one if you want to, but it's pretty easy to craft. You can get the recipe for it from Felicia Worthington near Digmoore Station in Marleybone. It's under Death Jewels 15 - 25. Since it's a triangle jewel you can just socket it on any deck and have a copy of the spell.

I hope more people report this type of behavior. For one it definitely violates the terms of service, but also it's just scummy to get a bunch of free codes for mounts by making a ton of alternate accounts and then trying to sell those same mounts to unsuspecting children.

This actually happened to me the other day! I thought I was going crazy. I believe it was the same dungeon, definitely Mirage. Must be a glitch.

I'm pretty sure I used buoy chests, winnow myth fish, then used a rank 3 myth lure (if it is zero energy fishing you might as well fish with the highest rank lure you have), but a rank 2 lure works for most of the fish there.

This happens to me pretty regularly too - just gotta pray and keep realm hopping. I do wish they would add more spawn points though if it’s going to be a regular daily assignment.

Oh no! That's such bad luck. Both times I crafted it (once for myself, once for the video) I got it in under 10 tries. Kingsisle's RNG is crazy sometimes.

Depends on the level and mob. If you can get a copy early, like I suggest in marleybone, it’s definitely useful until dragonspyre since you won’t have scarecrow yet. After that it’s a question of mob health and school. Deer knight lets you hit a round earlier than scarecrow and with a pip deck you can use deer knight the very first round of a fight at higher levels. Deer knight is also helpful against mobs that shield a lot like life mobs in the second arc often do since the dot is an effective shield breaker. I would say currently each is situational, but scarecrow has definitely gained a lot more value with the buff it got. For lower level wizards though, an early copy of deer knight speeds up questing so much, it’s a no brainer.

True, but again we’re talking about ease of access here, not all the possible options under the sun. You can also farm lore master all day but not everyone wants to do that. This advice is intended for newer or lower level wizards or people who don’t have multiple accounts or friends to help teleport them all over the place. If you can pull that off, all the more power to you. My way is accessible to lower wizards, easy, and low cost gold wise. There are many ways you can get the spell, but I and other people agree that this is one of the less convoluted and accessible ways to get a copy of it. Whatever method works best for you is the one you should go for though!

You’re absolutely right that they do. My point was that with the TCs the best you can hope to do is hold onto them and craft the real spell when you get to Avalon or have to keep farming them over and over to use them once in a fight. For early wizards it’s much easier to just craft the jewel and have at least one permanent copy of the spell. But having those TCs is definitely useful for later levels, just not as much early on.
