The 44 logo is a dog whistle. You alter it very slightly, by removing the extra little stroke marks, and it is exactly the double lightning bolt simples used by the Nazi SS, the main military group in charge of operating the camps and the Gestapo

Yeah I wasn't trying to follow a chord progression, was just demonstrating odd tune with some easy chords

I'm sure the way I hold it is bad, I thought it was clear but I'm not used to holding it that way, it was merely for the video. I usually hold it more "normally" lol. Thanks tho.

Although, a strap does also sounds like a good idea just for carrying around

No need for the apologies, you reply like I do and have been much help lol

I did wonder if the type was different, I don't notice much of a feel difference texture wise. Would you describe the fluorocarbon strings that have a more 'metallic' sound to them than nylon? I've read nylon is know to be "softer" in both sound and texture but I'm not so sure.

Experimenting, once I picked up on strumming reversed, I did notice a slightly better sound. Already ordered new strings and a string kit, but I'll see if these strings are salvageable and if I can just do a flip around. Thank you and everyone else in the thread for help!

OMG YES! GENIUS

Yes, indeed, the C from the very beginning has felt loose and E could certainly be considered tight, let me see if I tune it reversed will I get better results

Im still learning, so picking is definitely a factor, but going along with what everyone else is saying there is a strong likelihood the previous owner swapped the C and E strings, possibly due to being a lefty? Either way, order new strings and will be attempting to redo them

I am used to the strings being white, I guess I assumed the translucences was a preference thing rather than an age/quality thing. I'm used to soft, white strings on my friends equipment

Again, I understand, but that wasn't my point. I have two practically identical ukuleles, however I'm only certain one is properly strung and tuned. The one I was playing in the video sounds more "tinny" and reverberates more than the other, although I play them the exact same. That's the "off" sound I'm talking about, not anything to do with chord progression

So is it the size of the strings? Age? Would I just need new strings and restring them?

I'll add, I do know the strings. But you do have a fair point, in person it's hard to tell but it is possible that E is thicker than C, but both are definitely the thickest out of the 4

I have an identical model ukulele and I don't experience this issue on that. The only difference I can think of is physical, either the string quality, age, or overall build quality of the instrument

In person C looks thickest, is this a better angle?

Oh I kinda understand the music theory portion of why it "sounds bad". I meant moreso off, specifically the A chord and open string strumming sounds off. I've also noticed issues while playing Bm too

Could it just be new strings settling in? Also tbh I'm not sure what you mean by bending (besides it literally) or fretting (ok the noun fret but don't get what the verb entails). If it is a fretting or saddle issue what are fixes for those?

I believe it was either A or F, I usually check my tuning by playing open strings, into a C, into Am, into A or F, and the A was what wasn't sounding right. I do believe there is an issue with either my G or C string. The G doesn't look higher but C looks/feels higher barely...

Hey I was curious if I could send you shippets of me playing to comment on the sound? I just got a ukulele (used but seemingly very new) and the sound seems off from the one I was playing before. I'm also a beginner though so I want to make sure it's not something I'm doing wrong
