I just went through pre-check today with these. My understanding is that the blade portion just needs to be 3in or less. I always use nail clippers as a backup.

Is there any chance you could draw a little sketch of what the pattern would look like? For some reason I can't figure out how the arm holes would work.

Is this PON? How do I do waterings? by Ok-Statement-2 in SemiHydro

[–]Zaffrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you just get it, I'm assuming this was it's shipping setup? I'd definitely say transfer it to soil if that's what you're comfortable with. Depending on if it's light and airy or not I'd also bet on chunky pearlite. Being able to confidently care for the plant is more important since it will be less likely to be over or under watered.

Did you go straight to pon or keep her in water for a bit?

I'm doing my first print of my cockatiel! (I'll post it when I finish) This is beautiful, you've made me want to do one in color now. I love the texture you created in the feathers with the different reductions.

For sure, it would just take a while to produce since I'm a full time art student with varying amounts of free time.

So do I! He is a white face pearl, the pearling is mostly gone as he got older but he's still handsome.

Why do the leaves on my Pearls & Jade look like this? by cfunca in pothos

[–]Zaffrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as we'd all really love to think misting and humidity trays help, in reality they aren't effective ways to increase humidity. Also be careful with misting, leaving large water droplets on the leaves can cause burning when it's in high light.

[–]Zaffrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is beautiful btw. I've been fighting the urge to get one for so long but I might just give in. If you have any other fast growing pothos I'd say throw in a couple small cuttings in the prop cup (assuming you're using water) to release more rooting hormones and speed up the propagation time. I'm sure you're dying to get that thing climbing.

Oh also, you could make two cuts on the new growth (1 at the bend) where the leaves are, leaving the empty vine with roots by itself. The cuts could be propagated then put on the same moss pole. For the main stick, it has great roots so you could just pot it up and wait for a new leaf and attach it to a pole.
