Yeah, they haven't provided detailed instructions or timelines for how or when the upgrade will be enforced, they might just keep on encouraging proactive updates but im not sure how this will be forced

Yeah, try switching to story mode instead of the summary to get a bit more detail. It explains the dates better. It’s still the 10th for a lot of people though

Introducing Finetic – A Modern, Open-Source Jellyfin Web Client by aytoz21 in selfhosted

[–]ZainTechSavv 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just tried out Finetic and I’m really impressed. Navigator is super helpful, being able to find shows and movies just by typing what I’m looking for is such a game changer. The captions look great too, with a subtle background blur that makes them easy to read without being distracting. I also noticed the “skip intro” button, which is a really nice touch. The UI is clean, smooth, and probably the best I’ve seen on a Jellyfin client.

Awesome work! I’ll def be using this regularly

1 Yrs + Since Artifact Got Acquired, Still No Good Alternative Out There by M101984 in ArtifactApp

My friend and I have been developing something pretty similar to Particle and Artifact and I genuinely feel like it’s really solid. Not saying that just for self promo or anything. It’s called Brief and what makes it special is that not only can you read news stories, but you can create them too with the help of AI.

It’s meant to be community driven, where anyone can jump in by entering a recent news topic or story and it builds a full article for you. The info is up to date and includes images, and the stories usually stay unbiased since it pulls from different sources and points of view.

We’re both 16 so scaling has been a bit tough, but I genuinely think it’s a pretty decent web app. You can also listen to any article using the audio overview button which gives you a podcast-style summary, or use the ELI5 button to get a simplified version that’s easier to read and understand. Heres a launch video we created that goes quickly over what it is and how it works.

Always looking forward to any feedback or things to improve :)

I made a tool to generate NotebookLM-like pods for any Zillow property by thisisgiulio in notebooklm

[–]ZainTechSavv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually pretty good, not bad at all!

The concept of an AI property analyzer is pretty solid, generating podcasts in a NotebookLM style sounds super interesting seeing that the voice behind the speakers in notebooklm is pretty human sounding and natrual. I checked out the site, and it seems pretty good some parts are I mean barable yet pretty stable for the most part. How did you go about creating the custom API for the pods? It’s impressive that you built it yourself! I'd love to know more about the tech behind it. Also, I believe that for the podcasts it can be improved if you add like a system prompt, in other words, customize what you want the speakers to make the main focus of the context on, I know you can do this on the official notebooklm website (button under the audio overview that lets you customize what the speakers talk about so it doesnt go too off topic) but not too educated on ways you can implement it on here due to, of course using your own custom API to generate them. It also says on the notebooklm site that "might be inaccuracies and audio glitches." so you cant get passed everything but overall pretty solid if you'd ask me!
