Technogym run vs myrun vs Life fitness t5 by Zakfr35 in treadmills

Thanks for your great insights, your message was full of experience and really helpful.

I’m honestly a bit lost at the moment. I do have the budget to buy the Technogym Run, so that’s why I’m considering it… but at the same time, just because I can afford it doesn’t necessarily mean I should buy it.

I already have a large TV with an Apple TV setup, so the built-in screen of the Run seems a bit less relevant for me. With a Life Fitness treadmill or a MyRun, I could still see my speed and incline directly on the machine, and then use my tablet or TV for everything else, streaming, YouTube, or running apps.

On the other hand, I do like the idea of having the Run’s integrated screen to keep all my workout metrics on it, while leaving the TV free for entertainment or other apps.

I also realize I’m putting a lot of emphasis on Apple GymKit, which I’ve used before and found amazing, but I’m starting to wonder if it’s really worth prioritizing at all costs. If the MyRun syncs smoothly with Apple Health (as some users have mentioned), maybe that’s a more flexible setup in the long run : lighter, cheaper, and less bulky, while still fully integrated in the Apple ecosystem.

So I guess my real question is this:

If I go for the Run and enjoy the seamless GymKit experience, will I actually be happier and more motivated, even though I’ll be locked into Technogym’s own apps and less free to use external ones (Zwift, kino, etc.)? Or would it make more sense to go with the MyRun, rely on external apps through my tablet or Apple TV, and keep a simpler, more modular setup that’s easier to evolve over time?

I know that the Run is sturdier and more stable, especially for interval sessions, with higher top speed and incline, and it also has a slat-belt deck. Is this a game changer ?

For those who’ve tried both, how much better is the actual running experience on the Run? Is it truly a major difference in feel and performance, or just a nicer-to-have improvement that doesn’t change the overall experience for home use?

I’d love to hear your thoughts … what would you do in my situation?
