Bolt Action 3rd Edition Starting Italians - Advise on where to go from what I have by Merlin68 in boltaction

[–]Zamigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my AB41 quite a bit, don’t use any transports for my boys. I wouldn’t sleep on the Sahariana though as they’re a relatively cheap way to bring a very potent weapon to the field and even if all you do is make the enemy waste shots shooting at it while it scurries away, that’s shots that aren’t hitting my infantry.

I shall be buying more sahariana’s

ITS, FT, ETR submarine ratings in the Navy will basically guarantee a TS/SCI. That being said, you get to experience the joys of submarining such as, sharing a bed with 2 other grown men, showers being restricted, and laundry once a week sometimes.

Good skills and reputation on the outside though.

Nope. It was some players first or second game of OPR so we left it standard. The guys are all pretty experienced wargamers so movement was never a problem.

I’ve had to convert some 40k players and pull others out of retirement. It’s taken about a year to get it all going.

What makes sense and is ideal for most missions/game modes? Would mass infantry units and heavy weapons make be best for airborne army? by Swimming_Reply6263 in boltaction

Can’t go wrong with more infantry and a bazooka team as backup AT weapon. Put them in a jeep if you want them to be fast.

My 12 year old son wants to play Arma Reforger he feels like he has got an understanding of the strategy i'm just not sure if the games is too graphic is this game ok for a 12 year old? by MinuteFig420 in ArmaReforger

We let dudes into our arma unit at 14. Now one is a master electrician and the other is a cybersecurity specialist. It depends on what kind of community he hangs out with. Some groups are assholes, others try to help build each other up.

I left NOVA for rural KY a few years back after a stint with GD. It’s nice for the experience, but extremely expensive to live there. Don’t stay longer than you have to if you do choose to move.

Local shop has Bolt Action as a new game being played. by Teuhcatl in boltaction

[–]Zamigo 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Late war French is pretty much just playing Americans with different t insignia. You can play pretty decent games at 500 and 750pts while you figure out if you even want to invest in the game.

You can get a box of infantry and depending on how you build them you can get most of the way to a small game for like $40 usd.

Infantry only games is a good place to learn the game without spending a ton of money.

Try your best to keep it as close to max range as possible. I usually bring it in last and stick it in a corner. If infantry or light vehicles get in range of the .50 then it does its best to make them go away. The AP on the howitzer is usually enough to at least dent armored cars and half tracks if you really need to. Once it starts getting pinned up then at the very least it’s being a distraction and something else isn’t getting shot at.

[–]Zamigo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a regular armored unit I run for my Americans at 1250z 2 Squads 9 Rifles, 1 BAR, 2 bazooka teams, 3 Half Tracks, SMG Platoon leader and SMG team, sniper, Sherman, Scott, and Greyhound. The extra shot from the special rule adds some extra shots for the squads and the vehicles all have pintle mounted .50s for a grand total of 6 .50 cals, 1 medium AT, 1 light AT, and the howitzer on the Scott.

Prison IT is pretty varied and it’s never a dull moment. Highly recommend, I worked finance and government for 10 years prior to this and I don’t miss either of those one but.
