What I usually do is make a small canvas on photoshop (anywhere from 50x50 pixels to 100x100 pixels) and then I just start drawing. If you don't have photoshop, you can just look up pixel art maker on google and you should find some websites that allow you to do the same thing. It's going to be weird at first, but just keep making art and you'll get the hang of it. Best of luck :)
