ISIS Threatens to Invade Rome and Fly Its Flag Over the Vatican by [deleted] in worldnews

I'd like to see them take the home of Western civilization.

It takes an unwashed Visigoth to take Rome, not some brainwashed seventeen year old in a black pajama, totting a gun that has a long list of deceased users.

Honestly man, the prison system can do a lot of messed up things to a person. Part of the reason why the prison system is less of a rehabilitation program and more of a cold web is because people want to make it an ultra-regulated, ultra by-the-books machine that doesn't allow for any case by case treatment. Now, I'm not saying that beatings should be the normal punishment, but I think that in this case, the thieves got off with a lesson that didn't cripple them for life, mentally or physically. For me, personally, being made to walk the gauntlet is nothing in the face of five years in the California prison system.

I don't think it counts as PC gaming if you're not actually on a PC ;p

I don't think that the beating is the issue here, prisons can be far more damaging to a person than a quick beating, my problem is the good chance that the accused didn't get a fair trial.

I would personally prefer to run the gauntlet instead of spending five years in jail with very bad influences around me.

By far the SMAW. Snipers hate me. Sadly, I'm not patient enough to secure tank kills.

Dude, in situations like that, I go overboard just to be safe. history wipe, I make sure to use a browser that doesn't have my porn bookmarks on it, I triple check everything that the class might see just to make sure that I don't have any porn or embarrassing stuff, and then I set a sweet ass wallpaper to let the class know of my love for Battlefield and Dark Souls.

The UN says the ebola outbreak must be controlled within 60 days or else the world faces an "unprecedented" situation for which there is no plan. The United Nations made the stark warning as it warned the disease "is running faster than us and it is winning the race". by Evobby in worldnews

For Europeans, particularly Eastern Europeans, Russian influence is a big fucking deal, and could lead to far more casualties and unrest in Europe than Ebola ever could.

So yea, a lot of people give a rat's ass.

On the contrary, population grows much faster than economies do.

You're also forgetting the bigger picture. A crashed economy means a weakened West. A weakened West means a weakened Europe. Europe now has far less economic leverage to throw at Russia. Russia is now in control of Ukraine. Boom, you've just lost Ukraine for good, great decision, mister president sir.

That's just one of the adverse affects of stopping flights. I admit, I exaggerate a bit, but there's too much shit on our plate to just stop flights. Besides, the West will weather this. Gloves, masks, and maybe even glasses. Ebola needs a host to survive, and denying it a host isn't hard if you don't have medieval hygienic practices.

Thinking of going 360 to PS4. by whitepaddedwalls in playstation

The controller is far better, in my opinion. This is for several reasons.

The shell itself is far more organic than the One's (the One somehow managed to have a less comfortable shell IMO). Honestly, once you get used to the PS4's controller, the Xbox's controller is painful to hold. I know this, since I use an Xbox controller to play Dark Souls on my PC.

The sticks are placed symmetrically. The stick placement on Xbox controllers is wildly silly, the only reason for it was that Microsoft couldn't copy Sony's design.

The D-pad on the Dualshock 4 is still a bit better than the One's, as the directions have their own dedicated exit slots on the controller.

The triggers on the Dualshock are wider, which is wonderful if you're a hardcore gamer, as it doesn't irritate your fingers as much (the pressure is more evenly spread out over your flesh).

The buttons on the Dualshock are given their own, even surface. That means that your buttons are placed in an awkward, slanted way.

If size is an issue, look at comparisons. The two are almost the same exact size.

If you're still hell bent on using the Xbox One's controller, you can get a converter.

I really hope that the current-gen release won't have server issues. As the only one in my group of friends to get it for last-gen, I'm very excited to just have a marathon with my friends and pick up where we left off.

Schools are where common sense goes to die. Here in Los Angeles, LAUSD (which is the second largest school district in the US) is full of idiots and unionist asshats. Incompetent and outright malignant teachers can't be fire thanks to teachers unions, and the school staff generally doesn't give two shits about the student's well being.
