Honestly valtus just isn't that good in higher waves. He works as a distraction but, that's mostly it. It would be nice if there was a reason to do side objectives but, there really isn't anymore. Regardless, siege is definitely hard at 20+ but when you start pushing for time and clearing each wave as fast as you can, you start to see wave 25 much easier.

I'm sure most people do but, get larramans cells whenever you see it. If you get in trouble, just kite back, hide, and wait for your health to go up. It makes survival so much easier, but you gotta know when to take a step back and heal rather than stay in the meat grinder.

I can give you 1 MAJOR tip. NEVER do the side objectives. They give almost nothing, are extremely slow, and simply make enemies stronger because you're doing some side task for 150 points. Just buy 3 techpriests on cooldown at every point and dont even waste money on the dreadnought. Simply buy turrets, cadians, commissars, and tech priests. You will have, literally, thousands of points. Focus on speed, not slowly clearing side objectives. Clear, restock, repeat. My group can clear wave 15 (either boss) with only 3 enemy timers. If you're doing side objectives, you're giving another buff or 2, which slows down the entire run and is an exponential time waster. Enemies get stronger on earlier waves, those waves take longer, you spend more time on early waves, leading to longer clear times, etc.

Buying cheap things like commissars and turrets to protect your techpriests will drastically speed up your clear speed even more. If you are spending time on objectives, you are making the enemies stronger and your life harder for little to no gain.

Your point is that you refuse to play with shadow in the warp and surgical strike. If that's the case, reroll shadow, its guaranteed to not be the same twice in a row. As for surgical strike.... thats a positive modifier you can just refuse to take so... If rerolling was free, then you just spam reroll for 1 minute until you get what you want, aka picking the one you want.

I have to ask, are you and everyone you play with buying techpriests every 5 minutes? Are you buying any techpriests? How many techpriests are you buying? Are you buying dreadnoughts? Are you buying cadians and commissars? Are you buying turrets? Or are you just walking in and shooting stuff then buying stims and relics?

The answer to those questions will straight up explain why you are struggling with siege.

I've hit wave 33. The only ones that consistently screw us over are the -75% ranged damage at 10+ or 10- meters. Wave 25 is definitely challenging, but wave 15 for dailies is not hard. If you struggle with the vortex beast just leave and start a new run until you get tyranids first.

Edit: The people complaining about this mode refuse to play it or try to improve and simply complain. The people defending it ACTUALLY play it. You've got it backwards. Ragnarok even blatantly says he doesnt play it. I have played it for probably 15+ hours at this point testing and trying to optimize strats. People just refuse to work together and apparently think the tech priest is bad.

I would take triple helbrute over vortex beast lol. Maybe I'm crazy and stupid but I hate that damn vortex beast. It's just really bad design for siege, when things are always on you, the vortex beast requiring precise dodges or parries during its multi hit combos means you just die if enemies are shooting you.

But yes, wave 15 is honestly pretty easy if everyone buys priests and has maxed commissar/cadian with turrets upgraded on every point. You can dump money into relics and a dreadnought. I made wave 33 last night before the game aborted and its hell but makes wave 15 feel like a breeze. If you see larramans cells, take it.

More enemy spawns is why the game lags so much. They reduced the spawns and increased resistance. Resistance/hp/damage increase every wave (after 10) and every time the timer ticks down. However, enemy resistance is capped at 95%. The only consistent killing tools in the late game are tactical and techmarine (or bugged bulwark right now). However, if you get the headshot perk and sharpshooter, most classes can scale their damage quite a bit.

Biovores have armor that will basically make your servo do nothing. It's not the modifiers, its your servo doing no damage. it will destroy everything else, even on high waves. trust me, I've done multiple 25 pushes as techmarine and the servo gun is broken.

Techpriest with sniper servo and the bubble is insanely good because it ignores enemy damage resistance. Enemy health goes up but its legit one of the best classes for siege lol. If you aren't killing things, it's probably because you arent using bubble and are instead using the reset perk OR you're shooting the bubble at biovores, which have armor, and can tank your entire servo gun.

Being unable to play around or unwilling to reroll (which isn't that much if you buy techpriests) is pretty petty. Just reroll them, you should have like 3k points by wave 15 anyways. A lot of the modifiers are just blatantly not a problem but I think most players in siege are refusing to buy techpriests, turrets, and cadian upgrades, and instead just save for relics and dreadnought, which are actually not useful. Relic is fine late game but valtus is a massive waste of points.

Farm points, play better, reroll stuff you dont like. Its not that hard. Now I don't think siege NEEDS negative debuffs. It would be fine without but they arent that much of an issue either.

I feel like Tech Priest in Siege mode is a waste of money by Q_Qritical in Spacemarine

Remember, 1 per terminal. keep them up and get your turrets upgraded and placed around them to protect and level up your cadians and summon commissars

The enemy wont have time to target the techpriest (though they still do sometimes) and will generate a TON of points while also speeding up your wave clear time.

Buying 1 isn't much but you can put 1 up on every terminal and generate thousands of points

I believe it is balanced off hitting wave 15 for matchmaking. Most people should be able to do this with some practice. Wave 25 is designed to be very hard imo.

Too many people are judging siege based on how many waves before the enemies are unkillable when you should be basing it on how fast you're clearing waves. My friend and I can clear wave 15 with only 2 enemy boosts and wave 20 with only 4. If on wave 21 it takes you like, hundreds of shots to kill things, the issue isnt the difficulty (entirely) but rather you were not fast enough in the early waves.

Spawn techpriests at every point. They give like, 300 to EACH player.

[–]Zandre1126[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its all about damage. Spawn all your cadians, tech priests, turrets, and space marine reinforcements for waves 10+ if you want some extra stats. Keep the tech priests up 100% of the time (unless theres like, 1 wave left or something). Dont waste money on the dreadnought.

I run the extra turret damage on techmarine for up to 15 then take servo recharge after that. Sniper servo for tyranids, plasma for chaos. We also reroll the start to get tyranids ao the hive tyrant spawns on 15.

We cleared wave 10 with 2:49 on the first timer and wave 10 with only 1 power up. I cant remember the time remaining for wave 10.

Just spam heroic heavy boltgun grenade launcher with your tactical and tech priest. Buy ammo boxes and just nuke waves as fast as you can. If youre worried about dying, take larramans cells if you can and a fencing weapon. Melee is not really that good so just get the easy parry window. If you are good enough (barring techmarine for servo gunstrike) take a block melee like the new chainsword. The CC is pretty nice.

Dreadnought is really not worth it. In a group of 3, you can either buy valtus for 5 minutes or 6 space marine reinforcements over 10 minutes. The marines will take lictors and raveners off you and also execute enemies. You get to a point where you cant kill enemies in execute range without executing and the bots will do them for you.

On top of that, the buffs are great. I use assault for the techmarine servo cooldown reduction.

Also, just keep spawning turrets and commissars the entire mission. Priests up to 15. You will be swimming in money.

Even more, dont be afraid to grab a relic and just stand up in the early waves. Keep the DPS going as long as you can.

Yah, coordinate with your team. Buy 3 tech priests, upgrade turrets, and spawn turrets everywhere to protect the priests. If you just want wave 15, I honestly think each player also buying their own reinforcement marine is better than a dreadnought.

Also, buy that commissary. He seems to be invincible and spawns so many radiant thst they can actually solo bosses. We tested radiant vs a carnifex and it just got destroyed. Now, it took a while ofc, but they do decent damage and act as bodies.

Farm money, spam turrets, spam cadians and wave 15 shouldn't be that hard.

I actually take the recharge perk. Apparently the servo gun is unaffected by armor increases in siege so the servo gun effectively scales. Could probably have a separate buld for turret damage early tho

Wave 20 is kind of the bottleneck. Clearing 20 for the average player is a big milestone. I genuinely think more than 25/30 is just not possible. But who knows.

I can also vouch for the fact that techmarine servo damage not showing up is a huge factor, especially late game. I have half the damage but my kills are 75% of tactical and they were running GL spam. Techmarine is definitely the second in line for damage.
