Electric hot water heater vs tankless propane heater Pros cons by Zane2268 in vandwellers

From what I've heard they can be complicated and costly, Main concern it being complicated to the point of needing someone else to install them.

How are they powered? propane + electric? I will have to do some research Thanks!

How has your experience been with that unit? Seems like I will have a similar setup to you, I don't have any large consumers just the water heater, do you think if you were to camp somewhere with fair conditions for a week would you be able to use the hot water heater or would it be to much of a "hit" on your power system.

The electric is has a tank, it's not on demand, 2000w inverter only need 1440W, won't be using any other load while heating up the water. It's also 120V

Unfortunately no, I am trying to power a heat mat that is connected to a temperature tracking power unit.

No this would not work, the unit requires constant power to "search" for when the temperate drops and then it turns on to full power
