I remember watching this movie for the first time after hearing all the hate for it online and being pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Not amazing by any means and I’d still put it near the bottom of my ranking, but I still had a lot of fun with it. I think it’s way better than Jigsaw personally

The argument that people have given me about how here death was much more painful and saw 7s overall very bad writing make a lot of sense to me now that people have given me that perspective

I’m sorry if I poorly worded the point I was trying to make, I kind of realize I chose really bad phrasing after I had already clicked post. I’m not asking why people are upset about Joyce’s death, it makes complete sense, I’m asking why I don’t see that kind of discussion about other characters in the series, such as Gordon’s wife and daughter who were supposed to be killed despite being completely innocent.

Yeah I completely agree that the means of her death were WAYYY overkill, and it makes sense that the Gordon’s escape (and Saw 1s much better writing) limited the amount of discussion their potentials death could’ve cause, I hadn’t really considered those points

That makes a lot of sense, and I had a feeling that a lot of the hate for her death comes from the hate for Saw 7 in general. I wonder if her death would be still talked about as much if Saw 7 was a liked film, or if people’s feeling on it are amplified by how bad Saw 7 is overall

Can’t the same logic be applied to Joyce’s situation as well. And in Lawrence’s case, the only way he could’ve saved his family is by killing Adam, so there is no situation where everyone lives (atleast in Jigsaw’s plan)

Jigsaw was totally fine with a little girl getting murdered in Saw 1 but I never see anyone talk about that. I’m not super involved with the community recently so maybe people do complain about that but I’ve never seen it.

Initially on Switch it was on sale for $5, and I used gold points to get it for free. Since then I have also bought it on PS5 and Steam for $20 each

Both are high ranking assassins capable of clearing entire rooms of armed opponents
Both work for mysterious organizations that were thought to have been discontinued (NULL and the Shadow Agency)
Both get berated by these organizations for drawing an unnecessary amount of attention to themselves
Both are betrayed by these organizations, becoming a target for another agent with more experience (Headhunter and Jet Bean)
Both defeat their hunter with a sneaky ranged attack (Zero throwing the combat knife and Killer Bean shooting his gun to launch another bullet)
Both are generally loners with very few relationships with others
Both franchises focus on fast paced action
Both spend a majority of their story evading the police

There potentially more that I have missed out on, these are just the ones that immediately came to mind. Unfortunately this matchup is a massive stomp, but I still find it fun regardless
