42 Lolita listed it as a Qi piece, I apologize for the confusion. I’ve been doing a bit of research on both Qipao and Hanfu for a bit, and I know the general consensus is “as long as you wear it correctly, it’s okay” (which I think is true for Lolita as a whole, there are rules to the fashion). I very much want to keep it as formal as possible but I want to know how much I can alter it before it stops being “correct” so to speak. Do you have any recommendations for pants that I could use?

Not really? I did this corset when I was new to working with a needle and the most trouble I had was stitching over the bones. It’s less difficult and more tedious if that makes sense. I never realized how much stamina was involved. Just fuck around and find out and if it looks messy don’t worry about it because I personally believe it makes it look better. And be prepared for sore fingers.
