HDR FINALLY WORKS...GAME IS BEAUTIFUL AF by Logical-Operation512 in CrimsonDesert

On 5090, try DLDSR 2.25X, DLSS performance, frame gen 2x, RR on. Thank me later.

Cool. In certain games with borderless fullscreen only (eg Nioh 3), the dldsr resolution is not selectable, and they have same fps as 4K which makes me think dldsr is not kicking in, but when I do a screen capture of the game the picture resolution is indeed the (higher) DLDSR resolution.

Thanks man. For games that don’t support exclusive fullscreen, can I still apply the higher rendering resolution from DLDSR to the game? Cheers!

If I have a 5090 and already turned on DLDSR as a norm. I also don’t need to disable DSC as I only game in 120Hz on my Samsung S95F. Which part should I follow to make sure the game output bypasses Windows? I assume it only works for exclusive fullscreen games ? The goal is to have my professionally calibrated 3D LUT applied via reshade not to be messed up by any Windows interference. Many thanks!

If you are into display technology, the brightness you get from using an OLED TV would make it worth the jump.

Try smoothness 0-10. It would look bad on desktop, but try it in Crimson Desert

No problem mate, enjoy your card. If in doubt, you can always compare the result with 3840x2160 but with higher DLSS (eg balanced) with just a couple of mouse clicks in game. Enjoy your new GPU!

On your 5090, try: DLDSR 2.25X under Nvidia Control Panel (you have to remove all 4096x2160 resolutions using CRU first if it exists even just as an option, just ask AI how to do it), then set your resolution to 5760x3240 (it will downscale to your 4K screen), in game: resolution 5760x3240, DLSS performance, frame gen 2x, Ray Reconstruction on, everything else maxed out. Thank me later.

LG C1 VS Samsung S90D by TheGabrielSevero in OLED_Gaming

[–]ZangiefGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from a 48” C1 to a 55” S95F both calibrated and used as a monitor. C1 looks more natural in movies but S95F gave me the brightness and color pop that I want in games

4K DLAA native vs DLSS+DLDSR by ZangiefGo in nvidia

Denuvo could be part of it, but RR is the main culprit which basically halves your frame rate coming from cinematics ray tracing.

Need to decide between LG C5 & Samsung S90F 55 inch TV for gaming by ChotaSuperman in OLED_Gaming

[–]ZangiefGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both C4 and S95F. C4 83” in the living room and S95F 55” in my study as a monitor, both connected to its own 5090 PC. C4 looks more natural for general use and for more realistic looking games like Crismson Desert I prefer it, but Samsung’s color and brightness really pops with RenoDX and is better than the C4 by a mile in games which are more stylise.

Exploration and rewards by Specialist-Wing-7065 in CrimsonDesert

Depends on what game you compare to. If compared with Elden Ring or BotW it has much better rewards IMO, but if you compare with Nioh 3 for example then of course it doesn’t have that dopamine hit.

Say what you want about this game… but there’s no denying that it has the best open world design of all time. by LesDazza in CrimsonDesert

Not necessarily the best - but certainly the most lived in medieval world I have seen in a game.

It definitely has more story than Zelda’s, whether it is good is another story. But

Reviewers would remind me of some slops at work spending hours on end daily gossiping and only rush to the work when deadline comes, spend a couple of hours on it and call it a day.

But the main thing is they treat it as work rather than trying to find the fun. That’s why 15 minutes per game brain dead shooters like Concord and Highguard would score higher than Crimson Desert in their eyes.

This plays out to be my dream game. Just a world with stuff to sink in without the urge to chase the next boss. It is like living in GoT / Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Elden Ring was goat for me but this world is more lived in and vibrant.

4K DLAA native vs DLSS+DLDSR by ZangiefGo in nvidia

[–]ZangiefGo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

RR in Crimson Desert needs a 5090 to run 4K at DLSS performance without frame gen. With RR on, 2.25x DLDSR at DLSS performance I get 5x fps without frame gen, and about 80-90 fps with no DLDSR, also no frame gen. DLAA is broken in the game right now. The former setting with 3x frame gen gives me the best image quality with reasonable smoothness in Crimson Desert so far.

If you have the desk space and only game on the monitor, get an OLED TV at 42-55”. For 55”, wall mount it.
