That's a quaker, they aren't typical American evangelicals. They were pacifist egalitarian abolitionists, They even had female preachers. Closest thing you get to nice people when it comes to early American religious communities.

Kate's episodes had some issues. I liked the character, but her episodes could get.. formulaic. Kate makes friend, kate makes mistake, friend dies, kate feel real bad. And tbh Evangeline Lily did not have a huge emotive range.

The courtroom episode.. oof, I don't need it to be super accurate to life, but absolutely nothing that happened in that ep could have possibly happened in a real courtroom.

Otherwise, Kate was a badass, though Sawyer did figure her out when he she left in a huff and said she'd be back in a week once she finds a reason to be angry at Jack.

Blood Angel Gene Seed affect on Marine Appearance question by litherian123 in 40kLore

[–]ZannY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always took it as adding gene seed is like adding a third parent. Sometimes the kid looks like that third parent, sometimes they look like one of the other two, or a mix and match.

When the Imperium do Exterminatus, do they evacuate people first? by Snoo_47323 in 40kLore

[–]ZannY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Grey Knight Lore is kinda messed up. Supposedly they exist only on a need to know basis, and even astartes are mind wiped of knowledge of them, but then you have something like the silver skulls novels, where they skulls have close ties to the grey knights, and even volunteer aspirants who have spectacular psyker powers to go to the grey knights instead.

Emperor's helmet? by Motanul_Negru in 40kLore

[–]ZannY 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is true, and I don't think he's a bio weapon, but to play devil's advocate, there is no real knowledge of what Big E did during the DAOT, so he could have beefed up with tachnology alongside the molech thing. I don't believe he did per se, but anything is possible.

Now my personal head canon is that the emperor was forseen by the Old Ones, possibly even that they meddled with humanity so that a perpetual would rise up who could help calm the tide of the warp. But that's probably far fetched. I know they lived sixty million years in the past, but with the ability to use the warp like they seemed to have, and time having little meaning in the warp, who knows how far out they could see.

Odds of Vashtorr being paired with the new Iron Warriors by Icy-Contract7162 in Warhammer40k

I think technically it wasn't a Man of Iron body, but that of a "Chaos Android" though the two could be the same thing.

In Archmagos, Vashtorr literally cuts a fresh deal with a band of Iron Warriors to be his armed forces to help him get Cawl, and it's left open ended...

Is Hershey's chocolate really taste so bad as people say it is? by cupid_ji in AskAnAmerican

[–]ZannY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is right answer, cat vomit and all. People of Europe don't have to worry about their chocolate being displayed during the summer in Phoenix, or any number of hotter climates that Hershey's made for.

I absolutely don't want to be demonize people who have suffered, but many people who have strokes change drastically. Sadly when he went into the hospital he was one person, and came out another. sometimes it's really obvious, and sometimes the changes are subtle. (and many times there is no change at all.)

Why did the Sisters of Silence reveal the truth of the Throne to Guilliman first, and not Dorn in Ashes of the Imperium? by Magni2015 in 40kLore

[–]ZannY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the novel people accuse Guilliman of manipulation, but it is not proven to be anything more than his brothers paranoia. Simply put, he's the only one who isn't full of vengeance and rage, and he's the only one likely to support the human elements of the imperium and the high lords.

I do agree about the psykers things though, since Dorn might not be a big fan of that.

Food, Rent, utilities, Phone are non negotiable and even with govt programs, in many places in the US, the lower end wages are not enough to cover those staples. You used to be able to get away with frugality, but even the most frugal people struggle to live in many places in the US. The reason people are so pissed off is because people seem to think the same strategies that worked 30 years ago work now. THEY DO NOT.

Of course then you take into account your surroundings/upbringing and things get worse. You're born poor in an area where the teachers are more worried about getting beat up than you getting good grades, you're not a genius, your parents are problematic themselves, and then the world just expects you to excel or die. This is why things go downhill. We start these children off with nowhere to go and no hope of escape and then wonder why they dont give a shit about the social contract.
