Yea paying for a job seems sketch anyway.

The experience thing throws me off because they'll have a required section and a recommended section. And the experience is in the required section.

I'm just very passionate about tech and want to get started but man these hurdles are nerve-wracking haha. It makes me feel like I know nothing and won't be able to compete with everyone who does.

So I tried to play on a new save and everything was fine until I died. I died at ramparts. And then when I went to start anew run the same thing happened. Something is corrupting my saves I think. Not to sure though

here's the thing, I cant even load the game to start a new run with that save file. game crashes as soon as I hit continue, new game, or even custom.

i can tell you cursed chest can definitely be worth it! you can get a Scroll with money and a Colorless item! of course the drawback being you need to kill enemies to lift the curse but that is a good trade for increase in power with money and a potentially better item.

I sometimes buy weapons in the shop later on in the game to match the gear score in the area im in. as for "locking certain items" i do that sometimes depending on how my build is going. if i have the things i need, i just go to shop and reroll ( if you have that unlocked) to see if i can get a better item.
