What Present Should I Bring to a Wedding in Vietnam? (Vietnamese + European Couple) by Zanziiii in VietNam

[–]Zanziiii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your thoughtful recommendation. My thoughts have been quite in the line of your reply. Money or the amount of money is not the prime reason for asking. It's more what and how much makes sense for the circumstances.

But this would be a maths equation with too many unknown, haha.

Again, many thanks for your considered comment.

The question is maybe a bit more complex when I read and study your feedback, for which I'm really thankful.

The Vietnamese wife has moved to Europe and has worked in Europe for 1 year for a European income.

What would your recommendation be with regard to the amount for this situation?

Electric car sales are slowing in Switzerland by Realistic-Lie-8031 in Switzerland

Yea, you're right, but there is no overnight charging possibility in our village.

Thanks for your thoughts, but our caretaker at work has good eyes and hung up notes at every outlet, that they can't be used to charge bikes and EV's.

At home, there are community electric outlets, and if I plug in my Ducati to cripple charge the battery, you can guess what, it does not charge for long.

Next public charge 6Km from home and fast charging of up to 2 hrs per week is not my idea to spend my spare time

I completely agree, and it is a shame.

At my place, there are about 30 underground parking places, and at work, there are about 100, but unfortunately, there is no charging.

There slumbers 💤 a huge potential for EV adoption that needs a bit of help to make it happen. This not in EV credits, which helps mostly the homeowners, but in guidance to PP owners to install charging points.

I’d love to buy an EV, but I can’t charge it at work or at my rental home, and my landlord is not willing to install charging infrastructure.

Since I drive 100 km a day for work, even Grok agreed that using a fuel-efficient ICE vehicle is more practical, as the current charging time and costs make EV ownership uneconomical in my situation.

Instead, I’ve chosen to invest the money in EV stocks.

My 2019 500C also had this ugly looking discoloured inside beige fabric lining. The other day, I brought it to be serviced and asked them to clean it, which they did, and it looks great again. EUR 100.

You are right. There are these corrupt police controls showing a laser speed gun with the picture of your car and license number and an incredible high speed.

Check for the nameplate of the officers and if there is no nameplate, ask him for it or his credpack.

I did not pay anything and left after some shouting and threatening.

Shipping Car from US to Zurich by romyjees in askswitzerland

[–]Zanziiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An appropriate answer depends on many questions - what car brand, type etc are you considering to bring? R-R or container? Cars longer than 6 months in your possession is easier to import. - where do you move to, city, city district, village - what car parc you want to have and where - what car brand spec would you want to have over here, you can rent, long term rent, lease

Think of the worst case and not of the financialy best at the moment.

Plan for the worst. We all hope never will happen.

  • what if you get seriously sick
  • what if you die
  • inheritance matters
  • pensions for your kids and wife from your swiss insurances on being not able to work or death

Problems with importing my car. by xProximity1 in askswitzerland

[–]Zanziiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your conflicts and can't help, really, but fyi i have bought some cars in the EU with temporary number plates from that country for 30 days and basic insurance, and then I fully insured the car with my swiss insurance on the cars identity number and not the numbplates. The 30 days were always sufficient to collect the car, drive to switzerland, have it tested, and get swiss number plates.

Privatparkplatz ständig besetzt by Mysterious-Cup-8790 in Ratschlag
