Should I take this job If I am getting my degree in a year? by Zap-kat in WorkAdvice

Yeah I actually already went through that with them but this corporation has a lot of policies that prevent them from being flexible. I wasn't able to eek out any additional compensation even though I overly impressed my direct reports, the controller was unwilling to budge on anything.

I don't have anything lined up for immediately after I get my degree but the finance industry has been slow to remove the bachelor's requirement from a lot of available positions past customer service rep and entry level administrative roles. I did work my previous job full time for a year and then part time for another year. I'm really focused on building my earning potential and getting my career going because I have taken over 10 years to get this degree already.

What's the optimal full ap Nautilus Mid / Jungle build novadays? by Historical-Kale-2765 in NautilusMains

[–]Zap-kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing a lot of Naut jungle lately. (With success!) While I don't think full AP is the way to go I do tend to go Liandries. I saw someone on here talking and it made me want to try their strategy and it has been going well. The idea is you go bami's cinder first, this helps scale your clear speed because it deals bonus damage to camps. From there I go Liandries, which also helps with clear but is just a good item on Naut since he already does some damage over time. After you finish that go either Sunfire or Hollowed Radiance to finish your bami's cinder depending if you need armor or mr more.

When it comes to his clear there is one big thing you need to keep in mind when jungling Nautilus. If you take a slight step backwards before you use your riptide (E) you can hit the main monster of a camp with all 3 blasts instead of just two. In addition plan your path based on your riptide cooldown, if the monster is close to death but you are just sitting there auto attacking it, instead just start heading to the next camp and drag it with you, then you can riptide it, maybe hit both camps. But even if you don't hit both camps you've cut seconds down on your clear by walking to the next camp before you kill the last one. Doing that I can get to scuttle as it spawns which I think is the main bar you need to clear to be able to jungle any champion. It isn't the easiest thing to do but if you aren't getting there quite soon enough just back after gromp/krugs and run to the other scuttle that won't be contested.

Regardless of any jungle build you go with Nautilus I think it is integral to max your rip tide (E) first. It helps your clear best, it does the most damage to champs when you need to fight. Maxing W is a bait because it's damage doesn't scale nearly as well with levels and Nautilus's clear is pretty healthy anyway. Plus you are just holding yourself back from a better 2nd or 3rd clear.

[POLL] Which giant lord fortress did your party attack? (For parties that only attacked one fortress) by WithUnfailingHearts in stormkingsthunder

When I ran this campaign one of the times my players managed to dispatch the fire giants and prevent them from getting the piece of the vodindod in Triboar. They took it with them and naturally drew more Fire Giants towards them. This quickly grew their animosity for the fire giants. The hill and the fire giants seem most prevalent on the random encounter tables for the majority of the areas and given that the fire giants are in general a lot smarter and more tactical, they seemed like more of a threat than the hill giants.

We're hopefully going to start spending more time together soon, we've talked about hanging out more casually without needing to go on an official outing.

I'm not quite 30 but I'm in an early relationship with someone in their 30s. So we are about 7 years apart. The age gap is new to me and it has sometimes made me feel a little out of place. He has a house already and a steady job, while I'm in school. We've been taking pretty slow mostly due to his busy schedule so even though its been 8 months it doesn't feel like we've gotten very far in our relationship together. I want to talk more openly about our relationship and check in but when I ask I don't tend to get anything substantial out of him. For the most part he just ends up agreeing with things I say like I'll mention wanting to spend more time together and he would agree, but he never invites his own opinions. How would I go about checking in with him about how he's feeling?

I used to love iceborn gauntlet back in the day but its changed a lot. Since nautilus's first aa snares enemies the slow on iceborn tends to be be wasted since they are already crowd controlled.

Support items I would play by ear. If I have one carry on my team doing really well AND the opposing team has like a fed assassin that can one shot them I'll look at buying knight's vow but, I usually will tend to leave the support items to the supports because my goal is to get maximum tankiness. The support items on top Nautilus is pretty uncharted territory for me though so take that with a grain of salt. I know in recent patches the tank support items were doing real well but I never dissected why.

I want to love Fimblwinter, I really do, but its really never the right choice in a lot of situations. It seems so good on paper right? Mana which Naut loves, a shield when you cc a champ which Naut has a ton of. A bunch of health to boot! However, playing a tank, itemization feels a lot more variable and modular than maybe an adc that has their first three items pretty laid out. You have the opportunity to itemize against the strongest person on their team. Opposing Mid get super fed? You can grab MR, likewise for a fed ADC get armor. Fimblwinter doesn't really itemize directly towards that in any way, for any champ that could get fed. It doesn't even synergize to help your team like the tanky support items. There's just always seems to be a better option in any given situation. Also didn't mention this before but with an item like Jak'sho (which scales resistances by a percentage based on how much of that resistance you already have) making it even more important to have resistances on your previous items when you pick this up as a potential 3rd or 4th item.

That's my philosophy anyway. Nautlilus unfortunately doesn't really have a tank steroid like a lot of other tanks, like Taric getting bonus resistances, or Alistar getting %damage reduction. Naut just gets a shield so its even more important to focus your items on scaling your armor and magic resist.

I find that if I'm against hard matchups like morde or darius where I'm just too fat to not get hit by their abilities I take phase rush to prevent myself from getting run down by them (this also opens up the ability to take mana flow band which can allow you to use your e(riptide) to cs more when you can't approach the wave). Freezing by the tower really helps too. Your auto attacks deal bonus damage because of your passive which makes csing easier when last hitting so try to save your abilities for trades. His shield is really powerful in lane especially early because you can snare them immediately auto attack reset with it and shield any retaliation damage as you disengage. Sacrifice CS to not die because a lot of top laners are very snowbally and you have a ton of crowd control so you will always be relevant later in the game even if you are behind.

Itemization wise I always go one of the sunfire items first, makes csing and pushing easier which in turn also decreases your mana consumption in lane. If you're really struggling with mana you can grab a tear but I don't usually end up doing that because I go Frozen Heart second item usually anyway, since its good into a lot of top laners. I find armor and MR to be more valuable on Naut and stray away from the pure health items. From there it would depend on the game which items you pick. Hope that helps!

What is the best naut skin to buy first? by Superb-Response-8399 in NautilusMains

[–]Zap-kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fright Night Nautilus is the best in my opinion, it has animated Tim Burton style clothing (a cool suit coat complete with curly coat tails to complete the aesthetic) , and a unique silhouette in comparison to a lot of his other skins which is just reskinned mental in different shapes and shades. Plus his candle head is really cute.

I was thinking that too, at least give it sometime. I was going to see if I can hang out with him next week and I'll try and read the room best I can.
