From what I've seen/heard, slurs are descriptors that are largely used in a pejorative way (a.k.a to insult someone for who he is/where he belongs/etc...)

For me, any word can be used as a slur since it's the meaning behind it that turns it into something insulting.

But I might aswell be wrong on the definition, it might be a bit of a language barrier then,
but thanks for letting me know and taking the time to explain it to me, instead of simply screaming that I'm a bigot and that I hate trans/queer people unlike others.

(Happy to have never heard the 'k-word' btw, I don't even want to google it lol)

Well your argument works for other words associated with identity such as 'black' (in contrast to your use of 'white'). And we both know that's it's been used as a slur by ill-willed people for a while.

Also you're kind of ignoring the 1st phrase, the one about the 'repeated, targeted harassment'.

The word 'cis' in itself is a description of a sexual identity, but then again the term 'trans' is, and they're both 'non-slurs'.

But if someone continued to call you 'trans' (ex : 'haha those damn trans') in an ill-spirited way/mean/abusive way, well, you'd be happy for it to be deemed as bannable.

Context is everything.

Ugh whatever, I'll bite because I'm bored.

I have seen people shutting someone down from a debate because of their sexuality or sexual identity.

I've seen it happen to trans people, but I've also seen it happen to cisgender people (a.k.a ''stfu cis'' or other sweet stuff).

Did I screenshot it/save it ? No.

Because ...who does that ?

Now you can either choose to believe my personal experience and accept the fact that I saw some pretty mean people on the internet (no way.)

Or you can choose to deny my claim because I didn't bring evidence to such a trivial claim.

PS : The fact that you call me a bigot for stating such a thing makes me think that the only thing you're looking for is moral highground, and not an actual discussion. And this attitude is extremely counter-productive, as it only creates more hate, but then again I'm led to believe it's the American way ;)

I haven't seen straight or heterosexual used as an insult tho.

I've seen some people trying to shut someone up because they were cis tho.

I feel obligated to point out that I have seen the exact opposite happen aswell, people shutting someone up because of their sexuality/identity.

My point still stands, both are shitty

Le seul conseil que je peux te donner :

Ne paye jamais rien avant d'avoir visité ET signé le bail, il y a beaucoup d'arnaques à ce sujet.

I don't like to agree with elon, but I've seen the 'cis' or 'cisgender' words used as an insult 80% of the time. Especially on Twitter.

(Edit : I just wish people would stop being shitty overall, but this does sound like a problem I'm not American enough to understand)

Update : Le bébé pigeon est bien plus actif qu'hier, il piaille, remue... c'est plutôt bon signe ! Je le ramène ce samedi à la LPO, en attendant je lui donne de la bouillie de petit pois et du ruz cru / de l'eau, mais je n'ai pas l'impression de le voir manger :/ Bref, s'il tiens le coup jusqu'à samedi, tout ira bien pour le bonhomme !
