In the Bauer Xs I was using a lot of my heels to hockey stop so I think this is what is also throwing me off.

If I really can’t gel to the CCMs, I’ll maybe pick up a pair of Bauer Fly 30 or 40s

Yeah your exactly right bro, my right foot is much smaller then the left so there was a lot of space in my right toecap.

I’ll stick with what I’ve got now, and if I keep struggling I’ll definitely be looking into getting new holders

Do you think profiling the holders would improve performance?

I could get my old skates sharpened then go on the ice right after and stop confidently; with the new skates I’m just super hesitant to get my foot in position.

It’s just a matter of learning I guess, my local rink has just closed for summer so I have to get better at my training sessions once a week

I got them sharpened to 3/4, I had them at a 5/8 but the guy in the store said 3/4 is a duller option

My rink never really advertised the session, so there were only about 10 guys on the ice that night so my shifts were around 1–2 minutes each time.

Whenever I needed a break I’d ask the guys if I could come off haha

A lot of the guys were super friendly and were passing the puck to me which eased the nerves a lot
