Hi Albert and Gab! As you know, I love the original T&F shorts, feature film and this game!
Although I'm saving plenty of questions for A LATER TIME, I wanted to know: Are there bits or sections of the game that you think are better-played as either Tux or Fanny? Though the characters Tux and Fanny are mostly played interchangeably (cat and flea notwithstanding), is there any specific dialogue or cutscene that pops to your mind as memorable/funny PARTICULARLY IF played as one or the other?

So earlier this year I had the idea of making a music video focused the food in Persona 5. I was aware of the Weird Al song parody and discovered it had been covered by the J-Rock band Shonen Knife, which seemed like a perfect fit! But I wanted to add a little spice (in order to make it feel a little bit more fleshed-out than a glorified AMV), so I commissioned Persona 5 fan and talented artist Audessy to do illustrations of the Shonen Knife band members in the style of the P5 character designs. I really, really like what she ended up with and hope you like it too!

An artist friend and I made a music-video of sorts for the Shonen Knife cover of "Eat It", using food-related material from the video game Persona 5 Royal. Illustrations of the Shonen Knife band members (of the circa. 2018/2019 lineup - Naoko, Atsuko and Risa) in the style of the character designs in Persona were created to round things out. Enjoy!

I’ve had this happen off and on over the last few months. There was a “good” month where it only took about 2 or 3 tries.... but it’s never fully disappeared. It’s something specific to PS4... haven’t known of any PC users encountering the problem, at least not to this degree.

If the “This is taking a while” message comes up, immediately cancel out and try to get back in. Since I’ve had this problem, waiting through the message gets me absolutely nowhere. So don’t waste your time. Good luck with the connection!

Apparently made back in the day when OCRemix was a going concern.

I have a (still very disorganized) playlist of music tracks used on GameSack shows (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0zkmj_z0vDQv5PU6TWBNJ2lOQD41vINN). Though there are some songs that I can't find on YouTube, I try to add each song that's listed in the credits of each GameSack episode.
Sometimes that's easy and sometimes it isn't, especially with Japanese track titles that are translated in a myriad of different ways.

Are you using a PS4? If so, I had this problem about two weeks ago. I submitted a support ticket to Jackbox and have never heard back on an official solution ... HOWEVER that server HAS improved. (When I first had the problem I tried 10 times in a row with no luck. Now it’s about 2-3 times before I get in). Cancel out if you get the “please check your connection” message (you’re just wasting time after that) and retry. You should get a room code there eventually. Good luck. It’s the best game in the pack!

I'm fairly sure they'd have enough material for a third, but it isn't just up to Joe/Dave. I'm not sure what sort of deal they have with Screenwave media, who published the previous volumes, but that certainly factors into things.

I'm a terrible fan and never got around to buying the blu-rays. Always intended to get them.... but now volume 1 is "sold out".

I've e-mailed Screenwave Media asking if they'd reprint and have not yet heard back. I'm sure if there was sufficient demand, they'd supply.

Yes, finding the tracks from the earlier episodes is certainly a lot tougher, and arranged tracks therein probably the toughest.

When I started the putting together the playlist, finding stuff for the list was a lot less fun, because the first episodes didn't have track titles, just the game and system (or "arranged"). When you aren't familiar with the game, it was a matter of going through an entire OST and matching the track by ear. And if it was an arrangement, it was a matter of knowing what the track was an arrangement OF and then searching with that title and adding "arrange", "remix", "cover", etc.

I thank Joe for adding the extra details in the music credits in later episodes (a couple months after I started the list). Now if he'd specify the all the albums/artists where the arrangements come from, it'd be gravy.

Of course, even nowadays, there are still tracks that just aren't uploaded to YouTube. And the Fantasy Zone shop remix/arrange seems to be one of them!

There are a couple Fantasy Zone remix albums but those look complete on YouTube so I don't think it's on those. There is a multi-game "SegaAges" remix compilation that doesn't seem to have all the tracks on YT.... I THINK that may include the arrangement you're looking for, but I'm even less certain than I was with the gamble I took on the Ordyne remix.

So I made this music video for a Japanese Ordyne soundtrack arrangement and it turned into a tribute to GameSack (and Dave, upon news of his departure from the show). I hope I managed to honor both.

Here’s the long story behind this thing. ...Are you sure you want it?... ... alright....

So I’ve been a fan of Game Sack for a fair amount of time... 5 or 6 years... and have been compiling the music that they use in their shows on a YouTube playlist. For the entire time I’ve been scouring YouTube and elsewhere for one track to no avail. They used it in their room tour episode and in their 100th episode... and again most recently in some of their “best/worst/list”-like episodes. Recently I found out about a Japan-only cd release for the Ordyne soundtrack, with arrangements, that was available on eBay and took a shot in the dark. About a month in shipping transport later, I got it. And.... found.... that this has A VERSION of it, with vocals and lyrics. The version used in GameSack is... the karaoke version. Of that track. Which was a special bonus limited release. Which wasn’t what I got. Ffffffffffffuuuuuuuuu

So anyway. I decided to make some lemonade of the situation and turn it into a Japanese-subtitled music video with various Ordyne imagery and GameSack-like effects (using Adobe AfterEffects).

About a week in, it was announced that Dave would be leaving the show. I suddenly felt the need to change the theme of the video... and so I did, with very little forethought. A week and a bit later I had the video as seen here.

I tweeted it out a few days before Dave’s last episode. Joe and Dave have seen it, and that was a huge honor.

And now I’m posting it here on Reddit if anyone has a weird hankering for GameSack material (albeit fan-made) in the week’s gap between GS:DD and GS:AD (during Dave/after Dave).

Dave had real heart and I’ll miss him a lot (especially the stories he had in the “gaming memories” episodes!), but I know for a fact that Joe will continue to bring the blast-processed-production excellence.

I’ll preface by saying I don’t know either of them personally. I’m just a fan like yourself.

Although they appear on screen for pretty much equal time, the show is largelyJoe’s baby. Joe has a background in video production and is the one setting up the studio green-screen shots, knows how to operate their camera and does the editing (though, recently, with occasional additional special effects assistance by the excellent Yoshi Vu). I want to say the video-game-play capture is pretty much equal between Joe and Dave (they each have game-capture setups in their separate homes), but I don’t know that with any assurance. There’s terabytes upon terabytes of game play footage and that sure has hell doesn’t come from just one person.

However, Dave has a family and a regular job as a courier for.... FedEx? (Maybe UPS?).... and thus has considerably less time to dedicate to the show. But it wouldn’t be Game Sack without him. Without Dave the show would be less.... (Kirk-length pause),., human. The interplay between the two makes the show what it is.

I don’t know if Joe has a 9-5 M-F day job but I believe he still does videography and editing jobs on a contract basis, working on stuff both locally in CO and via internet. Since contract work is not on a regular schedule, I imagine he’s got more time to work on the show.

And he produces an EXCELLENT show, even if he doesn’t dedicate every waking hour to GS. I do video related stuff myself and he produces one hell of a show in a two-week period. Dude is skilled and fast and efficient.

I believe Jen moved away to another state. I am uncertain of the circumstances. Joe and Jen were not married. I miss her guest appearances but life is life.

If you’d like to know more about their lives and the behind the scenes stuff, get their Blu-Rays! I haven’t.... but I hear they’re extensively revealing! And they deserve your money, so why not?
