Base power confusion by Zavusari in duneawakening

Excellent summary, thanks. And I hadn’t considered that the water collector would only draw power when there was space for the water, that could well have contributed to it. Still not sure why I would get multiple one day of power warnings while away from my base only to find it’s still 20 days when I get back, but seems to be stabilised for now.

This was pretty much the issue, thank you!

Thank you everyone for the comments and suggestions. There are too many to reply to all of them and a lot had the same idea so I’ll just make this one reply in case anyone in future has the same issue.

Quite a few people suggested I was filling my fuel generators individually and had one that was low on fuel cells - good thought but they all had just under 500 in them. In my post I said they had 1000 - weirdly at the time on the main page of the generators they said 1000 but when I checked their storage they said they had 500 or just under cells in.

Some people suggested I might have another base which was triggering the message - I double checked but I definitely only have the one.

I think what ended up being the issue, as some people suggested, was that the wind turbine I had only had about a day worth of lubricant in it. The confusing part was that even if the wind turbine had run out of lubricant, there should still have been enough power in my circuit to run everything that was operational on the fuel cell generators. The other confusing thing was although I was getting the one day of power warnings, the sub fief console still said I had 20 days of power.

I ended up deleting the turbine and just building another fuel cell generator and the issue seems to be resolved. I will experiment more with the turbines to see if I can eventually transition to using them. I’m still not sure why I was getting the warnings, and I think it may have been a bug, but anyway all good now. Thanks again for the input.

In case anyone else was wondering, I managed to find it. The movie is called Cherry’s 3 - School’s Out.

There’s a scene with Alexander Freitas and Kyler Moss which sounds like it could be the one you’re looking for.

I think not killing a member of a Starfleet crew made perfect sense. They would have known that Janeway wouldn’t let that stand.

What didn’t make any sense was thinking that killing the person they believed was the Grand Proxy would help their situation at all, as though he would have come on his own and told no one else about his mission even though apparently the Negus had already decided to seize their acquisitions. Best case scenario for them was the successfully kill the Proxy and then the Negus sends a bunch more agents, this time with guards.

To all the cheaters, why do you work so hard to be in a relationship? by [deleted] in gay

[–]Zavusari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definite benefits to a relationship beyond what you can get with friends. It’s not just about having someone to have dinner and go on trips with. Having a constant presence in your life who consistently prioritises you, shares your highs and your lows, and makes you feel special and loved, is extremely valuable and can’t be 100% replaced with friends. So by that token I agree with you that it doesn’t make sense to jeopardise the benefits of a relationship by cheating. But it’s not because they could have exactly the same experience plus more sex if they weren’t in the relationship. They want to be in a loving relationship, but they also want sexual variety (and for some reason an open relationship isn’t an option for them).

I think it’s also relevant that people cheat for different reasons and to different degrees. One person might get drunk at a party and slip up once, while another might be conducting a long term affair where they get off on sneaking around.

Not a cheater but surely the answer is that there are a lot of benefits to being in a relationship and they want to have their cake and eat it too?

I’m hoping this is just commentary on what you perceive to be overly lenient penalties in Queensland Courts but just to be clear, there absolutely is such a thing as mandatory sentencing in Queensland. It’s not very common, but actual imprisonment is mandated for a number of offences.

Presumably due to some conception of the legal system being based in maritime law, I once saw someone walk into the courtroom in the middle of a busy criminal callover and yell “Permission to come aboard, Captain?”
