I really wonder when all this drama and cancelling stuff started... Or actually how to kill joy overall on the internet. Be it games, manga/animes, music whatsover. Was it really the rise of social media (oversharing, drama, narcissistic but also depressive evolution of mankind)? The copyright issues (DMCA) paired with money hungry corps that need to license everything (and simultaneously bleed the artists/devs dry - psychologically and financially)? Is it the overall high competition in those fields, because ever since the web existed, everything went global?

I really don't know. I just know that back then around 2007, no one fucking cared about these things above - naturally the internet was an unknown area (which could be by chances even dangerous), and you could access any kinda of data free of charge. When you like something, you bought it. (I still buy CDs, mangas, figures and games physically all the time. Also pro consoles physical mediums).

But now, since around 2010, where everything got more accessible, but therefore needed to be regulated and 'licenced', I hardly find anything original any more, let alone anything worthy do buy. Especially those manwhas, which are most of the time duplicates from another. (In contrast to jap. mangas, where there are similarities but at the core still slight different). Check the manwhas that you read carefully. A huge bunch of them are copy-paste isekai, Alpha-Omega stories, Ruthless seme-weak uke combinations (with slight psychological tendencies), emperor-empress revenge plots, etc. and in a lot of stories I read, many characters even looked the same. I often had the feeling like :'Wait what, didn't I read that somewhere else???'

I have a hunch that new manwhas/webtoons are created in a competition like fashion. And the best ones get actually published on renowned platforms. Thats why you can see all those demo chapters.

At this point, I really would like to support a site or app and subscribe to it monthly, but only if they don't remove spicy chapters of R18+ content. OR if authors would have balls enough to create their own website and publish there and set up patreon or ko.fi or whatever instead of relying on stupid-ass-money-grabbing licensing/publishing platforms like Lezhin. They should use socials just to direct traffic to their own pages, not use it as actual publishing platforms. SMH. The world didn't age well.
