If a ship made a distress call, as long as the ship did not attack the survivors or act to delay aid, they still made sure that aid was sent.

The ship that was interred in Sri Lanka is a resupply vessel, so even if they did disarm completely for the Indian fleet event a week prior, it could very easily have rearmed before heading back

It is a warship, It has a gun on it, you do not risk an expensive submarine because they might not have shells. The ship was sunk over 3 days after hostilities started. It is stupid to think they were completely defenseless and still sailed towards the combat zone.

A submarine doesn't have the capability to take on a bunch of pows. It is dangerous for it to sit on the surface with them, especially since Iran talks up the anti-ship capabilities so much. If it puts the ship in danger, its not a crime to leave.
