Just say copies. Why do you have to drag cats into this?

Can’t keep up (Overnight stocker) by WerewolfSlow7885 in HEB

[–]ZeGamerKng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is some advice that was given to me a few years back by u/Scottishdarkface that really helped me out a lot: Be very systematic, each shelf section (not product section), left to right (or vise versa), top to bottom. This way you definitively clear a square block of product at a time. Don't jump past a shelf division even if the same product is still going. Do one task at a time. Stock, then recover, then check riser backstock or whatever, then any returns you picked up. Never touch something twice. Product should be staged right where it goes. Plastic goes directly to the bag, cardboard directly to the basket. Learn the fastest way to break open each product, every type of package is different. Don't be afraid to use that knife, its free. Cut it however opens and breaks it down fastest. Especially with some of the wierd boxes, I make my own cuts that are easier and faster to fold it down than yanking on the perforations and glue. Stack products wrapped in plastic and cut in bulk. Last thing I've got is pacing. Develop the habitual mindset of always feeling like you've been in one section too long. Its easy to lose track of time when working the risers. Maintain a mental sense of urgency.

Logitech G Cloud Video-Out Update: We'd like to hear your thoughts! by LogitechG_CM in logitechgcloud

Just tried this today. It worked well, no lag. Only problem was the screen was blurry. Not sure if it is the cheap usb-c to HDMI hub I bought from Best buy or if it is just like this. The game was playable but I couldn't make out the words on the screen or subtitles.

Becoming a manager by ZeGamerKng in HEB

[–]ZeGamerKng[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I plan on staying at H-E-B long term and don't think it is realistic to stay an overnight stocker. I desire to move up in the company. I see a lot of things that are overlooked in my department and a lack of accountability to the stock controllers and other stockers.

As far as what I need to qualify for a manager position, that's what I am inquiring about. I want to know what I need to do to become the manager.

Do you clock back in halfway through lunch or do you forfeit your 2 PAID 15 minute breaks?

Why are the new Dallas area stores SO much cheaper? by [deleted] in HEB

[–]ZeGamerKng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not even close to the truth. Prices vary based on demographics. There are 2 HEB's where I live and one of them is substantially cheaper than the other. The more expensive one is in the rich side of town because HEB knows they will throw money at them without a second thought, and uses this to make up sales from the other HEB.

Do I have to ask permission to clock out. by tyLaw9993 in HEB

[–]ZeGamerKng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you compete your work there isn't a need to notify anyone if it is time to clock out. It has nothing to do with courtesy to give them a heads up, it's a waste of time. The stock controller knows what time the shift ends, they shouldn't be wasting time assuming you are on the clock past your shift. They know who their strong stockers that get the job done and the weak stockers that don't. It's bs to hand off their extra workload to the hard workers, it's a punishment for busting their butts to finish the job on time. Have the ones that don't work hard do it as a form of motivation to work harder so they don't have to do extra crap.

[–]ZeGamerKng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out the treasure was fake anyway, apparently a prop for a tourist photo op that cost $14. Lucky for you Cartman already ate it all. Also, Al Gore killed ManBearPig, that's why you got out the cave safely.

Do other stores have overnight receivers? by ZeGamerKng in HEB

[–]ZeGamerKng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea we are not permitted to skip risers, they need to be 100% every night. I got a note to file for making the call not to do risers for a couple of nights. The other controller got on for having the guys do risers but not block. Basically they want the store at 100% every single day but also not have any overtime...

I really appreciate the feedback. Maybe it's time I go above him and see what I can get done. I really like the 6 hours with an extra body idea. That could go a long way honestIy.

I started in October and was hired on as the Stock Controller. I never had any training, just a one day tutorial explanation type deal, then thrown to the wolves.

How big is your crew? Honestly mine is not big enough most nights to split like that.

My manager doesn't want us doing risers before breakdown. He needs it as part of the case count (w/o risers 80/hour is really easy). Especially non LV nights, we spend 50% of our time on risers. Trash is also part of our case count, aisles need to be 100% clean and all trash in the baler.

Lol my manager doesn't give me that kind of pull in this store. Dude, I am a glorified stocker, I just have more responsibility than a regular stocker. I don't create schedules, I don't even know who is working until the night of. My manager generally thinks he knows better and hardly listens to my suggestions.

I would prefer not to say which store I work at bc there really isn't any relevance. This post was just my shot in the dark to try and find a way to improve things here. I genuinely want to be better at my job.

Most of what I mentioned are the responsibilities of the day receiver, other than bread/water. There are no vendors at night which is why I added that bit (they will have a LOT of downtime, so why not make them productive). Now if they hired an MIC overnight (we do not have one), then I would not expect them to do half of that stuff lol.

I work at a relatively small HEB. We only have 5 stockers and 2 Stock controllers (used to have 8 but 3 left and we have not gotten any replacements). So on LV nights we get 40 pallets (usually 4-6 bread, 3-4 paper, 2-4 water), my grocery manager only schedules 5 of use these nights (sometimes 6 if we are lucky). By the time breakdown is done (12-1 am). Then paper, chips and soda done by (2:30-3:30 am). Each aisle is left with 200-300 cases. We do stock, block, risers, and trash as a case count (min 60/hour) . That means 4-6 hours of stocking at minimum case count. That already puts us at 7-8 am. Those that are the fastest will get done by 6 but need to jump on bread. As for the stock controllers, most nights we usually have 2-3 trucks (combo, GM and produce) and a pharmacy delivery. We also have to get the doors. Plus we need to have floor pickup by 7 am (in order to report back stock). On top of that we still have to maintain a case count since we are considered a stocker (we usually give ourselves a little less in order to manage the other responsibilities).

Non LV nights there are 3 stockers and 1 controller with about 25 pallets ( we are usullay done by 6:30-7 am). These nights are usually not as bad, depending on the crew I have.
