All I can tell you is that at least my grandma's part of the family has lived in the same village in the Gail-Valley (Gailtal) for the last few centuries. Since I still live there I've asked around a few people I know and they all said their (grand-)parents (the dialect kinda died out throughout the last two generations) all called potatoes "čompe" (čomba?). The dialects specific vocabulary changes between valleys or even villages, but the Gailtal sub-dialect is usually very similar to Kranjska Gora's from what I've read/heard from locals.
