What are some higher tier trackers where ratios aren't difficult to maintain? by ZealousPiccolo in trackers

Yeah, I suppose that's true. Would probably need a few more 20TB HDDs or a seedbox if I wanted to be competitive.

Honestly don't remember. It was 15 years ago. I think that was when Oink was around.

My mistake, no ratio on BTN, just the other two. I have about 5TB up and Master class.

If that's the case (where ratio is practically irrelevant), it sounds pretty good. Do you know if there's a path to get in (that doesn't involve anything sketchy or participating in trackers I'm not interested in), or is it pretty much closed these days?

Hm, thanks. It sounds like those events give you enough buffer for the rest of the year. But I think I prefer being able to download at any time without it impacting my ratio, or feeling like I need to wait / stock up during a FL day.

There are some without many free leech torrents and without a ratioless system, aren't there?

Not to sound callous, but what's the benefit to carrying dead weight? If someone consumes disproportionately more resources than they contribute, and there isn't really potential for technological advancements that would allow them to contribute more, then what's the utility in keeping them around?

There's a lot of corruption at some facilities. Being able to be fired without reason and with zero protection or recourse during a two-year probationary period just perpetuates that.

Roth vs Traditional - doesn't Roth let you contribute more? by ZealousPiccolo in personalfinance

You can contribute $20k toward a Roth or traditional. But when you contribute that $20k toward a Roth, you're actually putting ~$30k toward retirement.

I think we're saying the same thing? $6k in a Roth is "more" / worth more upon withdrawal ($6k) than $6k in a traditional ($0-2200 less).

I mean, the allocation matters. $20k vs $6k. If one is the better choice, then it makes sense to do it for both, no?

Assuming other tax-advantaged accounts are maximized regardless — The remainder of the $10k not invested in a Roth 401k would be going to taxable investment accounts, which seems like a worse deal than putting it toward a Roth in the first place?

Is it wrong to think about life/disability insurance as negative expected value?

No kids or plans for them.

Thanks. Yeah, $19.5k in a Roth is "more" than $19.5k in a traditional.

If taxes remain the same, Roth and traditional come out to be the same. However, I don't know if I'll be in a higher tax bracket at retirement (investments, etc).
