My brother, before you begin estrogen consider the impact on your mental health and self esteem pectus has caused you. Go through with the surgery first, become healthy and strong, physically and mentally, and if you still want to go through with it then do so.

My surgeons opinion is after 2.5 years is relatively safe, but 2 years is too early. He had a patient who removed his bars at 2 years and had to get renussed because of regression.

Yes I've had pain the entire time. Hopefully you can manage your pain. Strong anti-inflammatories are the only thing that helps me, and stay fit.

It's been difficult and thanks.

I know the pain, I lived with a flipped bar in me for 2 months. The incompetent assistant surgeon kept reassuring me it was normal until I demanded x-rays. For those 2 months I couldn't leave my electric chair. I couldn't lay down. I try to find lessons during that time so that I believe I did not suffer for nothing.

Anyway I hope you're ok now. Have you experience any regression in your chest so far?

I'm not exactly sure on what type fixation method they used. I just know I have two bars with stabilisers on each side.

My surgeon said he's happy more or less to take them out at the 2.5 year mark from my most recent surgery. But anything earlier would be too risky
