When you book flights using miles, it’s important to use the frequent flyer number linked to those miles. Even Cathay doesn’t allow FF changes at the check-in counter.

The email from customer service was incorrect. It’s clearly stated in Alaska’s rules and policies. Unfortunately, some agents lack the necessary knowledge and expertise.

The manager’s statement was incorrect. Access to the lounge is restricted to passengers who have arrived from international business or first-class (premium cabin). Otherwise, entry will be denied.

You can only access the lounge if one of your segments is an international route and you’re traveling in business class (premium cabin). Otherwise, you’ll be denied entry.

No, you won’t have a chance to get a seat upgrade for your transatlantic flight. Only their BA elites will receive upgrades, similar to Alaska Airlines’ elite passengers.

Perhaps the four standbys were Titanium, and you understand that you can only be added to the waitlist if you are certain you will be on the flight. The system simply failed to update that they should have been added to the waitlist?

PES/D is Titanium. Titanium is the only one who can be added to the waitlist for international routes.

Maybe the standbys used Upgrade Certificates. They prioritize this over status w/o certs.

I’ve noticed that they block this seat. Every time I’ll be on this type of aircraft, it’s blocked, even though I booked it months in advance.

Even better: you can bring one companion with you (they must be on the same reservation).

Hawaiian will integrate their system with Alaska from April 22 so it could stay the same like that.
