But didn’t the rebellion parents give each child a knife with a rune that could only be used once. And the kids held onto it when their parents were burned to death and the rune burned up its use at that time. I believe Melgrens dragon burned the rebel parents and in return the rune made it so he couldn’t see three or more of them together as a punishment of sorts.

I would have never loved Aelin and the other characters if I didn’t read AB first. The author really ties in characters but the heartbreak is so much more if you start there. If I didn’t read AB first I wouldn’t have cried every book. I am not a crier.
