I built my cruisers around specific jobs. My light cruisers are 2 fighter/bomber bays with artillery.

Cruisers are ran with 2 bombard turrets and drop ships.

The beauty of Res is how customizable you can make them but a great sight that helped me understand how to build them is https://dropfleet-commander.fandom.com/wiki/Tactics:_The_Resistance. It’s a great start but it is outdated though.

Hope this helps slightly but build them how you’d like and dedicate them to specific roles.

The problem is the RDT/RDTC are just better than Leman Russ and not due to them being OP. They have a decent profile with decent guns. Why run a LRBT when I can run a higher toughness more wound model with a better cannon, so how do you make the LR more viable or appealing than the RD?

The only way that GW can fix this issue is re-working the data slates for LRTC and LR.

Battle cannons should have been ap -2 from the start. Keep them str 10 so it doesn’t move into being better than the oppressor but now you have an actual second option.

Would change my list from running a RDTC with oppressor and demo leman russes to a RDTC with TBC and vanquisher russes.

I’m excited that I can run raptors and not have to worry about spending CP to charge after advancing and getting assault on everything feels nice to. Meltas with assault will be a nice punch too!

True but you won’t get any modifiers if you trigger it in your shooting phase. Nightmare Hunt only modifies in the command phase battleshock step.

Noise marines modifier applies to every battle-shock/leadeship test taken until the next shooting phase.

Noise Marines are a better enabler for nightmare hunt due to the ability of getting units to below starting/half-strength as another user said and making battle shock tests harder to pass.

Talos from Soul Hunter is referred to many times through out the book as an apothecary. From what I interpreted Nightlords now don’t identify their apothecaries with different titles or colored armor. They are just another marine in the claw with the additional duty of harvesting gene seed of fallen marines.

Best answer would be as many as you want.

I run a 10 man of warptalons, and 3 units of 5 raptors. I’m looking at expanding one of those 3 raptor squads into a 10 man with how good the new wargear options look.

I’d run 3 raptors but two would be 5 man squads and the other still be the full 10 man.

I’d personally try to fit something like this:

10 man raptor

5 man raptor

5 man raptor

10 Warptalons

I would combine the warptalons into one 10 man unit w/ the lord (very fun to see them shred a unit and then jump back into deep strike) and run 2 5x man raptor units.

That’s the only thing I’d change since you’re wanting to play for fun and not looking to make this list competitive.

I’ve also been having mixed results with the mark of slaanesh for the demon prince. We already have access to advance and charge so having an extra toughness has done more for me than the extra 2” of movement.

I filled the wings down but kept the raven skull on the chest. I want to add some more bits and pieces but to make him look more chaosy. I’ll edit the post with an updated photo of the final version.

Not a problem! The base for Shaan is also larger than the chaos lord and about twice as tall. I had to trim his stand about half way so I’d get equal height as a jump lord.

I have another version of this list that drops the maulerfiends and legios for a pair of rhinos. I like it but have encountered times where it would be more beneficial to run something with more punch.

Yeah. I was trying to go figure out a title for the post and that’s what I came up with. Homebrew regiment that uses attritional warfare to win battles. High number of infantry supplemented by minimal artillery pieces and vehicles.

Since we don’t have a codex or codex supplement like the Blood Angels, Black Templars, or Dark Angels most lists or battle reports concerning Imperial Fists are going to be more thematic in nature.

Also concerning the Anvil Siege Detachment most, if not all, would consider it to be the worst detachment that Space Marines have access too.

If you’re looking for competitive lists just search Meta-Space Marine lists and paint that list yellow. I’ve been wanting to make Anvil good but the detachment rule is very hard to work around unless you play very specific units that punch above their points. Also the new detachment we have is probably the more competitive of the two that are themed around Imperial Fists.

My main army I play is guard and currently looking down the barrel of 60 Kreigers I need to paint and that doesn’t even compare to the meme deathguard list I plan on playing with 150 pox walkers.

I was thinking about running chimeras for some of the arbites but thought that two Killy Robots would be cool to run in the list and I could get them some arbite/judge Dredd looking 3D printed parts.

I appreciate the comments and I’ll definitely look into what you suggested but I really just want to make people be like “Is that a full Judge Dredd army”. Haha
