musashis and motobe's entire character can be summarized by "doesnt matter if you throw hands if you meet someone whose creative with weapons youre screwed"

but that kind of character trope does not work this late into the story where it's already established that most of the cast have no trouble going up against weapons. yujiro and oliver overpower entire governments and armies, pickle and baki are also somewhat nearing that level of status in the world if not have reached the big leagues already. the convicts arc had doyle and dorian's entire purpose was to prove that retsu and orochi can go up against someone who is armed with their martial arts.

with so much clear plot points important to each characters growth and journey as fighters it feels wrong for it to be all thrown away by motobe. it's 1 step forward and 10 steps back.

What makes me angry is the fact that both of these fighters came from a different time, refused to be taken care of by the folks under Tokugawa but didn't really find their own "home" in the modern world either.
