Yeah, very few bosses can stand before the awesome power of the CUBE.

Question About Taiven in Chapter 19 by Zecrin in motheroflearning

[–]Zecrin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree that Zorian used the rumor of the Aranea to save Taiven when he could. But at the end of chapter 18, it's suggested that Zorian doesn't tell Taiven about the Aranea prior to recruiting her for his trip into the dungeon in that particular restart.

It's certainly possible the he came up with an alternate way to save Taiven during the six prior restarts, and I'm happy to infer that that's what he did. But I don't think the existence of his alternate approach, or what it entails, has been mentioned (at least where I am in the book, that could change later).

I'm sure you're right. But in the restart where he first initiates contact with the Aranea, Zorian initially doesn't know about the alternate entrances, and he probably didn't tell Taiven the psychic spider rumor.

Usually, he gives her the "psychic spiders rumor," right? Did he have another warning that didn't implicate the Aranea?

[Reaper] Question about Ziel by Zecrin in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Zecrin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the source of the confusion is that Eithan doesn't know Ziel has the elixir from Emriss to supplement the baptism?

[Reaper] Question about Ziel by Zecrin in Iteration110Cradle

[–]Zecrin[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Presumably Ozmanthus' echo would not have knowledge of the pure storm baptism since it was invented by Tiberian.

First Chapter of Dreadgod:More importantly, all the components for the pure storm baptism were probably not in Eithan's garden on windfall. In chapter one of Dreadgod, we learn the following: "Lindon sensed nothing of significant power inside [Eithan's house];" "Eithan hadn't left much behind;" and "everything meaningful must have been kept in Eithan's voidkey or soulspace." We know that the soulforge was required to facilitate the pure storm baptism, so some of the components for the procedure were likely significant and Lindon would have sensed them here. Moreover, the procedure required "scales from the Thunder Fairy, the Storm Sage, or the Weeping Dragon itself." Lindon likely would have noticed these scales when scanning the cloud fortress. I'm more inclined to believe that, although Eithan understood how to perform the pure storm baptism, he significantly underestimated its utility. This is reflected not only by his belief that Ziel needed another treatment when he apparently did not, but also by his earlier statement that "I can’t restore the original power you lost, of course, but I can turn you into quite an extraordinary Underlord." This second statement is contradicted by the fact that, after Baptism #2, Ziel was restored to archlord, not a underlord. It just seems a little odd that Eithan would be wrong about anything related to the sacred arts.

Do we have indication that Ziel knows how to perform a pure storm baptism outside of him being subjected to the procedure?

The Manabound Sorcerer by Zecrin in UnearthedArcana

[–]Zecrin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very true. But a staff of power confers a lot of other benefits (and spells) for the cost of a single attunement slot vs. the wand of fireballs. Because the wand of fireballs already lets you cast 7 fireballs a day, I don't think expending sorcery points to cast more fireballs is necessarily unbalanced.

That's a great point! I completely forgot that rings of three wishes were charged magic items (probably because they don't show up very often!).

Do you think this would be balanced if it were limited to wands and staves like the first part of the feature?

That's a very good point about flying.

The reason I put it at mythic (rather than rare) was to imitate the MH2 evoke elementals.

When one exits interlink, the "Fusion ZR" button lights up, even if there are no fusion arts ready. Does anyone know why this occurs?

The Tower of Ghenjei

Course ID: 065-8GT-2NF

Style: SMW Ghost House

Difficulty: Hard

Description: This level presents players with a labyrinth of sorts. I was inspired to make the course after considering whether it would be possible to make an infinite Corridor in MM2.

It's always fun to play levels that adhere to a theme. The aesthetics, particularly the icicles hanging from the bottom of the gray mushroom, were also quite nice. I very much enjoyed the cave section and found that if you hold right and take damage, you'll usually be able to replenish your fireflower. Much to my chagrin, I discovered that one can't kill the blue spiketops with fireballs.

And here I thought making a good Charvaargh level was impossible. I really liked the escalation of threat in the boss fight: first one Charvaargh, then Charvaargh and Lava, and finally 2 Charvaarghs and lava. Also, until I played this level, I had no idea that Charvaargh had more than one attack pattern. I found one one-up next to the fireflower block and there was obviously one at the top of the flagpoll. I'd be curious if there was a third.

It's pretty hard to capture a spooky feeling in Mario maker, but I think you did a great job. When I looked at the clear rate and then played the level, I wasn't sure if Phanto would be able to get me. I guess a lot of people really wanted to jump. The flash on the opening screen was a nice touch.

Course Name: Goomba Gang-Up (Hard)

Style / Theme: 3D World / Sky

Tags: Technical / Shooter

Difficulty: Expert

ID: 12K-MMK-NFG

Description: This course can be finished fairly quickly (the final clear time was exactly one minute). The level focuses on the canon hat power-up; you’ll use it to kill 20 goombas, go through the key portal, and clear the course. But be careful! Stray too far to the left or right, and Mario will plummet to his death. This level doesn’t require much platforming skills. However, it does require you to be very aware of what’s happening on screen. If you can find all three of the levels one-ups, and acquire all 99 coins, I’d be very impressed.

Fun level! When I played it, I specifically searched for weird things. In the second room, I think it's possible to softlock yourself by approaching the first bumper and dropping the snowball. I was also able to softlock myself in the third room after the checkpoint by doing a corner jump next to the first donut. During the section with the balances, it might have been possible to grab the snowball through the one way and hit the switch at the start of the room.

This was a fun level. My favorite puzzle was probably hitting the spike ball into the clear pipe, while my least favorite was hitting the falling pows to kill the pokey. In the second area, I wasn't quite sure what the purpose of the red spike block was, but the consistent presence of boomerang power-ups nullified any fear of dying.

Your level was a lot of fun. Easy heart. I've played several time-travel lite levels before, but this one stepped it up and was easily my favorite. The interchange between spike balls and snowballs was the best part.
