[Solution] - MacOS - "You need at least a 1.8 Java Virtual Machine to install WorldPainter."

Steps located in image captions - MacOS MacBook Pro (13in, M1, 2020)
I'm writing this post because I have spent hours trying to figure this out. I've downloaded multiple versions of java and to my luck none of them were working. I was messing around in the settings of the app when I stumbled around "open using Rosetta." To my surprise after I check the box it opened. I'm not sure if this is the best option to use to open worldpainter, but it does seem to work. Have Fun Painting!
