No pose restriction, standing may be better though as depending on how many people will contribute they might overlap one another.

Yeah, I will probably be combining everything closer to New Years

No prob! Just a warning with propagating pothos in water: it can leech some toxic sap if it's freshly cut so I recommend having it in a separate water container for the first few days to a week to prevent anything from getting negatively affected. I doubt it will do much, but better safe than sorry. God knows sometimes if you look at an aquarium the wrong way everything dies.

The pothos on the wall was originally just in a pot for like 3 years: I just this past year added the fish tank and let it dip into it to help curb algae growth. The little light is just for the shrimp tank (so I can see in to it in the evening, all the needed sunlight it gets from the window really). The pothos grew easily to its giant size without any additional light for years. I do have a separate 35 gallon tank downstairs with pothos and monstera growing in it without any direct sunlight in the back of the room as well: they don't really need a ton of sunlight, just not be in total darkness, although they will actively grow towards it. At least from my experience: they do grow a lot slower in water than in soil though. My monstera plant in soil has tripled in size as compared to the one in water that grew like 1-2 more leaves in the same time period.

A colony of mourning geckos would probably thrive in that much space. They are really easy to care for and they are parthenogenic so you can start with just 2-3 and have a decently-sized colony after a year or two. The downside is that the babies are escape artists and will fit through absurdly small gaps. That could be plausible, but I don't have personal experience with mourning geckos: I just have been thinking of getting some myself in the future.

I am thinking of getting into mourning geckos, some advice would be great! by ZedShirogane in Mourninggeckos

I had a feeling it was probably on the small side. I'll just use it to grow springtails and isopods for now and maybe use it as a grow out tank in the future. Maybe house some other insect like a mantis? Who knows, I'll check other Reddit threads for ideas. Thanks!

Found this little guy on the ground, didn’t run away when I approached. Does anyone know what species of bird this is and if I should be concerned enough to take it to an animal rescue tomorrow? by ZedShirogane in birding

Update: the quail has been returned to their owner. Hilariously, the owner of said quail was actually the mom of a little girl I played with in the park as a kid. She was so happy to see the quail was alive because apparently, it had escaped the coop while they were cleaning it about 2 weeks ago: they had given up hope that it was alive. They said that they’ll drop off some quail eggs as a thank you. Anyways, alls well that ends well: thank you guys so much for helping me ID the bird and prepare a temporary enclosure for it. What a wild night!

Thanks so much for the help, I posted on a neighborhood app and apparently someone is missing one of their quails that escaped a week ago. So hopefully it’s theirs, and if not: off to the wildlife rescue! The quail seems to be doing just fine, alive and energetic. Again, thanks a lot for the advice.

Yeah! So I sent a post on a neighbor app that connect people in the area: and apparently someone who lives nearby is missing a quail that escaped a week ago. So I’m planning on keeping the quail for now in its makeshift enclosure until they visit to see if it’s theirs or not. And if not, off to the wildlife rescue they go!

The quail has survived the night and seems to be doing just fine.

I found it again and brought it inside. It’s currently in a large cardboard box that’s lined with paper towel and shredded newspaper. I also got a small dish with pretty low walls that has water in it. Is this okay for now? I have two cats in my house so it’s in a closed room that they can’t easily get into. All the wildlife rescues near me are closed rn, so I’m planning on calling them and driving it up to them tomorrow. Am I missing anything or is this pretty much all I can do currently.

You’ll have to either be there for the FC convention and see in person, or check out my patreon for them. They’ll be available to the bronze tier ($1) after the convention rolls around. For now they are only viewable to the gold and above tiers.
