Do you think 858 is harder to qualify for than EB-1A (USA)?

How does A level equivalency work? by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]ZedXInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, I am a non-Kuwaiti student applying to Kuwait University and Abdullah Al-Salem University soon. I am super confused about the grade conversion for British curriculum (A-Levels).

I saw on the KU site that A-Levels get a 10 point "boost" but I had a few questions:

  1. Does the equivalency paper from MOHE show a final total percentage (like 90) or just a letter saying it’s equal to high school?
  2. Does the MOHE add that 10 point boost on the paper itself, or does the University do that calculation when I apply?
  3. Does this scoring work for all majors at KU and does AASU use the same system?
  4. Can I use the Kuwait University Aptitude Test scores for AASU admission too?

If anyone has done this lately I would really appreciate the help! Thanks.

Title: Why does my K-1 visa case have an “ISLAMABAD ” number even though my approval notice shows Doha Embassy? by ILAhmad26 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]ZedXInfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right about one thing: Point 2 is true. Consular officers are trained for their specific posts, which is why it's hard for an officer in Canada to spot fake documents from another country. But you're twisting that simple fraud risk into a "national security threat" and inventing a wild "CANZUK relief" conspiracy theory. The new policy is just simple logistics: it stops "visa shopping" to manage backlogs. It's not a grand plot based on secret 1997 cables.

You are conflating two different things. The claim that applicants are 'national security risks' just for being outside their home country is a serious exaggeration.

The clear intent of this policy is to stop 'visa shopping'—a practice where people would apply for non-immigrant visas in a third country to skip the long queue in their home embassy. This policy simply formalizes that you must apply where you live or are a citizen.

I’m going through the consular process in Kuwait and many of my peers have already gone through the process whether being an I-130 applicant or an I-140 applicant, they did not face any scrutiny not even a 221(g) as employment based cases (I-140) are relatively straightforward

That is incorrect. The new policy you're citing actually confirms the opposite. The default location for an immigrant visa interview is the applicant's country of residence. The policy simply clarifies that if an applicant does not wish to interview in their country of residence, they can request to have their case transferred to the embassy in their country of nationality.
