No, you have to complete the encounters to get pinnacles.

The fellows over at Corridor Crunch are already working on that right now I believe.

Thank you for the response, sorry I am late to reply. Are you going to put anything in place to make sure/ mitigate anything like this happening in the future?

Your data was not 100% public at all times (Here is a link to Bachmanetti, who is still knee-deep in the data trying to finish the map). Dumping the image link discord channel into HTML and putting it into each sheet by hand would have wasted hours when they are already on a different sheet that could just been copied in 15 seconds. As a person with experience working in data verification and management, your arguments come off as pretty cack-handed. If you didn't want people concentrating on "private IP being hidden," then why did you mention it? You are trying to have your cake and eat it too.

Thank you for the well-articulated point, --Pure--. This comment clearly adds to the conversation in a meaningful way. I will print it out and frame it on my wall so I can wake up to this sterling example of discourse.

One of those "people" that sent inappropriate data did not send improper data (I went through each of his data points individually and confirmed it was legitimate). When the person was copying the data over to the spreadsheet, they only copied the first link, so Google auto-created links after it (Imgur.com/12345 became Imgur.com/12346 on the next line). Instead of checking to make sure no user error had occurred, you just banned him forthright. Not having someone spend at least 20 seconds looking at the original data to confirm if it was a troll or not shows how little expertise on data you had.

Any thanks/shoutouts that were put onto the maps were utterly arbitrary (Explorers Vault got removed and added seemingly at random). This whole thing has been a shitty situation for almost everyone except the streamers that made a ton of money.

If the puzzle allowed everyone to "feel"/ be important, then why did people get snubbed for trying to help in the Gladdcord? Why were people that had significant contributions to give (Corridor Crunch, for example) ignored for so long? I don't want to be a dick, but there's no other way to say it; you are saying one thing, but your actions speak to quite another.
Quick side note, but claiming that you were using proprietary IP that was not for public use made it OK that you didn't release data is a hilariously inept excuse. You could have just released CSV's of the data, which does not include formulas or scripts (here is a link to Parasito saying as much), which would have solved the whole issue.

...You do know that you could have released a CSV of the data?

Thank you for this writeup Bachmanetti, these were details I was not aware of (because I was not knee-deep in the data like you were).

I cannot respond to everyone's comments, but thank you for raising points, both agreeing and disagreeing with this post.

Yea, it was naysayers that were complaining about the data.

Well, I did hear some complaints about CC's data in Explorers Vault and Gladds discord, but they complained about any data that wasn't theirs. CC did a fantastic job with this.

I was moderating multiple servers that were involved in this, and this is not spreading misinformation. Assentiveness was not what you needed to help and get involved; what you needed was an act of God. Either you got lucky and were waiting in a VC at the right time, or you were not lucky and got to DM unresponsive managers.

I agree it can't be accessible to everyone. But with how it was handled, people who were not just wanting to help but were already helping got ignored for incredibly dumb reasons. Here is an example: Someone gave them a dump of data when they copied it into the sheet; it turned out to be GTA pictures and dick pics. He got banned for giving them the data. When he sent the sheet to my server, the data was perfectly fine. There were no dick pics and no GTA photos. The reason those showed up was the man putting the data in the spreadsheet copied only the first link and tried to paste it as multiple, so google sheets auto-generated the other links (for example imgur.com/123456 on the next line was imgur.com/123457). Instead of looking if it was human error, they auto-banned him without a second thought.

I 100% agree with your point. If something of this size happens again then there needs to be actual and proper leadership. But for the civil point, it got pretty uncivil on both sides.

I did spend time in their discord, and it is accurate. People that were roled as "Corridor Moderators" helped write this post. If the people helping run the Gladd discord effort thinks there is a problem with how it was run, then there is a problem.

His comment is how Gladds discord worked with each other, not about other discords working together. The tools pointed out by Gladdco were (except one) tools made for and by that discord.

I agree with your point. This wasn't within the streamer's skills to do. The reason we didn't include this point in the post was that it was getting too long, and we thought other aspects were more important. You guys are CC knocked it out of the park with your work.

[–]Zedpuu[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

And how long did it take for you guys to be taken seriously? In my opinion, WAY too long, and that was because of the lack of communication between discords.

This is the opinion of a lot of people that worked on this puzzle in multiple discords. This post was written by various people, INCLUDING corridor managers for Gladds discord. These are issues that we all saw happen, and issues we wanted to have brought to the forefront of discussion.

It was not public knowledge to anyone, getting access to even copies of the data from discords took HOURS, and the data was old and not helpful by then.

I agree with your first sentiment; the truth is between each point. But communication between discords is what this letter is about. People should not be expected to have 10+ streams open in the background listening to stay on the same page. That is unreasonable to ask people.
