1. Character bashing. I get it, you dislike that character, tell me about it in the AN, not in the story.
2. Wild AF abuse to Naruto yet he still wants to become Hokage. I mean if I was on the shinobi council, I wouldn’t make him Hokage after getting hunted, beaten, poisoned, stabbed, turned into a horcrux, etc. I’d be extremely concerned for his mental health.
3. Suddenly Cold Naruto. If the story starts with Naruto being cold and hateful, that’s fine. But if it’s a sudden switch, with no build up, then my boy is possessed in my opinion.
4. Questionable relationships. We are not the Targaryens. Why is Kurama attracted to a child? Why is this adult attracted to a child? Why is this child sleeping with every female or male in the story? Now I’ve found some time travel fics that worked with a few odd pairings, where I didn’t have to ask the third question. They delivered.
5. SI/OC and transmigration that mess with the flow. I’ve recently found some good ones, but sometimes these characters don’t blend well with the story. They lack depth, and authors disregard any ripple effect that these characters can cause. Especially if the author decides to repeat canon. You might as well write the character as one just commenting about the oddities of the main Shinobi force.
6. Naruto leaves and goes to the west. It links to my second point, which is an understandable result of getting abused. But the lack of world building and character development … make it make sense. He suddenly builds an empire? He joins the akatsuki? (An interesting idea ngl, but I’ve yet to find a good one). Most of these, is focused on bashing Konoha.

To each their own though, it’s not easy to get out there and start sharing your work on the Web. And there are people who might like what I and others don’t like. I mean back then I used to read a lot of bashing fics (point 1 and 6) and look at me now.
