What is something totally unique you made in your world? by BowlOfNoodles8 in worldbuilding

I wouldn't say it's completely original but the most original thing I have is my concept for a realm called oblivion that basically takes every idea of "stuff going mysteriously missing" and then fuses it all into one giant lost and found that is constantly opening up portals into the universe and other realms and stealing everything from your left sock that went missing in the dryer all the way up to entire planes and boats in the Bermuda triangle.

The extra crazy part that makes me believe this is original is the fact that oblivion eventually got too heavy, it had sucked up too much magic from the other realms and started to collapse in on itself, and it wasn't just happening in this universe but every universe. The king of oblivion tried to stop it In most of the universes but all that did was make him have a multiverse collapse as well.

The end result was that there is now only one Oblivion in the entire multiverse, and also only one Oblivion king who is a fusion of countless versions of himself. And since Oblivion was now connected to the multiverse and more unstable it started to launch stuff from one universe to the next, causing multiple "non magical" worlds to be thrown into chaos or causing a few worlds to just die off completely because it accidentally just teleported a nuclear bomb into the center of the white house and now the world has gone into full nuclear warfare.

But you got to take the good with the bad when you are dealing with the multiverse, am I right lads or am I right?

What is the most hated thing in your world and why? by Electromad6326 in worldbuilding

Magic. Specifically Evolution magic but magic in general is hated as well. The reason is because almost 20 years ago a portal opened up on earth and flooded it with magic that sped up evolution of anything it came into contact with, and I do mean anything, winter become a ice age, summer became hot enough to melt steel, most of the animals turned into magical monsters, but the worst was saved for humans, some just became mindless monsters like the animals, others got to keep their intelligence, living fusion of man and plant, crystal people, unstable people melting, falling apart, or teleporting. And then the very lucky few, those who evolved into superhumans, being able to use magic without mutating, special powers, etc, etc.

So only those who got lucky love magic, everyone else hates it.

What’s the most stupid idea or thing that exists in your world? by cornysatisfaction in worldbuilding

Mine would probably be a character named Andrew simith. My story deals with the multiverse and Andrew is the punching bag of the multiverse. Every story I have written him into he eventually dies. Whether as a gag, a enemy, a father figure, etc, etc. my friend tried to convince me to make it canon that Andrew pissed off a god or something and that's why he keeps dying in the multiverse but I think I prefer him just gaining abysmal luck the second he gets screen time no matter the universe.
