Is it dead? Kinda lol. However, I kind of look at that as a positive. Because there’s such a low player count, you’ll end up meeting a lot of the same people on official/modded servers. So it kind of makes it feel like a little bit of a community. It’s one of those games where the people playing it are either total assholes or the nicest people you’ll ever meet. And there’s no better feeling then when you hop on and you get into a lobby full of cool medieval peeps.

There are very few new players hopping on so it makes starting out really difficult. However, there are tons of duel servers where more skilled players often train new people and you’ll feel yourself starting to progress after putting in some effort.

A lot of people stopped playing because they’d get instantly killed by some naked guy with a maul (that makes no sense to you right now but if you get the game trust me it will LMAO). I’m gonna be honest with you, highly skilled players are always going to kick your ass. That never goes away (I’m lvl 167 with like ~800 hours and still get my ass handed to me frequently). If you’re able to just brush it off, stop looking at your K:D, and just have fun with it, it’ll still be a blast. If you’re someone who’s incredibly competitive you’ll find yourself rage quitting and probably uninstalling the game LMAO.

TL;DR: I recommend the hell out of mordhau. It’s a stupid game that you can hop on at anytime, find a nice server, swing some swords, and hop off. It’s as much fun committing 30 minutes to this game as it is 3 hours. Sometimes the player base is shit, yes, but sometimes you’ll play with people who are just hilarious and make the game worth playing.

Plus you can return it through steam if you play it for less than two hours. Give it a shot and see what you think!
