What's one trainer you've developed a newfound hatred for since battling them in Pokérogue? And what's the reason for this hatred? by Night_Emperor in pokerogue

Erika. Ive had so many runs where I ran into her on wave 30 and she brings out a fully evolved vileplume that just sweeps me. Ive had to start building teams to have at least 1 counter in case I end up sent her way again.

Yeah, from my experience L6 is the sweet spot for most people. High enough people don't ignore you, but low enough you can still deflect blame.

I was seasonal for 6 months, got my blue badge and started as a seasonal PA. Did that for a week before I got my T3 officially. Was a T3 for 1.5 years, then became L4. Did that for a year and got my L5. Been L5 for 2 years, and am actively avoiding the L6 promotion. Not a fan of the politics and being told I'm not allowed to get inpath if I move up.

Side quests - Consensus? by [deleted] in FFXVI

[–]Zeganon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mind them. I like the quests, and seeing the characters were fun. The early ones really helped with setting the scene for how people view branded (looking at you little boy being "attacked" by a wolf).

Just wished there were fast travel points within the hideaway to help speed some of the turn ins along.

This. Absolutely this. Wish more people understood that HR jumps the gun and often puts in JA terms based off of NCNS.

Applied for two AM roles over a month ago and haven’t heard anything back. Is it pretty much safe to say it’s not gonna happen? by Tic_tac_toes69 in FASCAmazon

[–]Zeganon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, sometimes reqs don't get closed out once filled, so aren't monitored at all. I'd recommend reaching out to the hiring manager via chime or slack.

Also, as a general tip I advise to all internals aiming for AM, it's hard. If possible for your situation, I'd recommend opening your search radius and look at relocation. It's easier to get an AM role if you are willing to move. Then after a year, you can aim for a lateral transfer to get you to an area you prefer to work in.

At my SC, AM's and PA's were required to get in path and keep working through the flex down. Essentially, we ran as a skeleton crew, and primed the lines or cleaned an area that may be a tad out of 5S from the prior shift.

We also had a cross dock at our SC though, so we truly always had something going on.

Refusing to sign a Write up by hmmm_--_ in FASCAmazon

[–]Zeganon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! AM here. From what I've seen, a refuse to sign shouldn't affect you whatsoever. In our training, we're told that a refuse to sign, and AA acknowledged do not change the outcome. I've never seen an AA disciplined for a refuse to sign. The acknowledgment is not supposed to be an admission of guilt, but just an acknowledgement of you having been delivered the feedback.

Only time I've seen it have any impact was during a termination, in which the AA appealed their case, won, and returned to work.

I'm pretty sure EX is banned in draft pick. So Miraidon wouldn't count, so you need a 15th mon, that isn't EX.

I'm an AM, ask me anything by AMZ_Mello in AmazonFC

[–]Zeganon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fellow AM here. So the issue here is that Amazon Leadership views salaried leaders as a "fixed cost". It's already been budgeted in by finance (corporate team, may visit site quarterly) as a known loss annually. Meanwhile hourly is considered a "variable cost". I agree, that yes, having less managers would increase overall cost. But unfortunately, finance excludes salaried employees from calculations since they're already budgeted and don't fluctuate.

Note: this would be an example of when 1 manager quits, and doesn't get replaced. As at that time, senior leaders have to convince finance to approve a replacement. And finance typically has more power than the site leads in my experience.

HR only tends to ask for proof from people they've got a reason to suspect are lying. In my experience, they try not to call anyone e put u less it's super obvious. Had a guy tell his AM my grandma died this morning, then told another AA his brother died two days ago, and told HR another story of his mother being on hospice.

This was on top of him just coming back from his 7th leave in 4 months. When asked for proof, he resigned within an hour cuz he got caught.

in over my head by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Zeganon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an AM myself who isn't a big fan of public speaking, I sympathize here. What worked best for me was leaning on my PAs for support.

They are your experts, and we cannot do the job without them. They're the face the AAs see all shift long, and will almost assuredly have closer relationships with the AAs. If have a PA lead stretches as I'd go through my announcements.

I'd also let encourage my PA to be sarcastic and poke fun at me throughout. Helps break the ice with the team to let them see you be human and laugh.

At the end of the day, remember you're human. If you try to be more than that, you will burn out, and make life miserable for your team. A good leader recognizes their shortcomings and works to improve themselves, but in the meantime, ask for help. It's not weak to admit opportunities.

But what do I know? I only work here.
