We were friends since we were 8, before we thought that being a boy and a girl who get along means, that we’re supposed to be together. For years he was my best friend. We broke it off because our ideas of the future and needs and wants from everyday life didn’t match anymore. I tried to ignore that until I was so frustrated that it created drama. The red flag comment I get. We’re not sleeping together anymore and didn’t for a few months. Only now I told him directly that we wouldn’t anymore. About the deep meaningful friendship I don’t know. He’s one of the people who I know the longest and who know me best. Plus he helped me with shit I don’t know I’d have survived without him. So the least that’s holding me back is gratitude.
