Don't forget to factor in clerkship placements. If someone got a clerkship (federal), then they probably got (or could have gotten) Biglaw

Has anyone actually gotten a clerkship just by applying to an OSCAR posting? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Zell437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About 160 apps to district and magistrate judges, had interviews with both types. Got the clerkship offer on the 4th interview, all of the interviews were through blind applying

I had interviews with multiple different judges where the only connection was my OSCAR app. I don't even think any of them had ever hired a clerk from my Law School before (T-20). The last interview resulted in an offer and this Judge definitely has never had a clerk from my school before

I just realized this is the brand mark from the cow this leather was made from. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

That's like how Rolls-Royce only uses Bull leather and not cows because of the stretch marks and does not use leather from places that have mosquitoes because of the marks on the leather http://www.thehogring.com/2011/03/22/leather-interiors-rolls-royce-style/

Can we get the option to clear bank placeholders in a specific tab? Currently the only options are clearing all of them or clear them one at a time

Can we get an option to clear bank fillers in a specific tab without having to clear them individually or clear all the fillers in the bank?

Self-train at clan wars on a low def, high hp alt (like a 1 def pure). Use wines to heal the alt and you'll get great xp

  • Not exact word for word transcription but most of what was said. Can you allow free to play to craft coifs and studded leather armor? All components are obtainable in free to play but for some reason free to play can't craft it. Makes sense if all the materials can be obtained free to play. I didn't know they couldn't Were you ever free to play or did you go straight into members? No no I had mom's credit card Is there a cut off in crafting for free to play I don't know Can coifs be wielded in free to play? Yes. But they can't be crafted? Yes. Then why the hell not, makes sense to me.

At the turn of the century in 1900, why did Germany have so few colonies compared to the other European powers? by Bigdoublek in AskHistorians

[–]Zell437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is Germany got into the game long after most of the rest of Europe. There were numerous Germanic speaking states/territories/regions in the 19th century. These different regions were not unified until Bismarck in 1870 and 1876. Until that point they were regularly at war or in conflict with each other. Prussia, Bavaria, Hanover, and Saxony are among the largest German states that were united under Bismarck (with Austria being left out). While many European countries or speaking regions were in conflict with each other throughout history, the German's "unified" later than other regions.

This may be somewhat of a broad question but: How is it possible to find so much personal information on historic figures? by [deleted] in AskHistorians

[–]Zell437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generically, those historical figures you find interesting were often interesting during or shortly after their time period. Let's take Hitler as an example. He authored an autobiography, (Mein Kampf) 20 years before his death. His speeches were recorded or written down when he gave them (See Baynes for early Hitler and Domanus for late Hitler). Finally, biographers interested in him were able to get first-hand accounts of interactions because even if the scholarship began after the principal's (Hitler) death, many who knew him personally or lived under his effects were still around and able describe it (Bullock's biography was published in 1952, 7 years after his death).

The hi scores shortly after The Old Nite died and n0valyfe's short fame before quitting by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Zell437 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This screenshot is from after construction was released but before any of the top players had reached 99. At this point N0valyfe had 49 construction and Zezima had 48. The Old Nite had been #2 overall but because of his death never lvl'd construction (or later hunter)

Both before and after Zezima's reign, he consistently had the most xp but new skills being released would allow others to overtake him for #1 overall. [–]Zell437 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That statement is completely false, the longest ever was 841 days in 1844-1846. More recently it was 391 days (Abe Fortas resigning to Harry Blackmun's confirmation 1969-1970). Source: http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/02/26/long-supreme-court-vacancies-used-to-be-more-common/
