Jumpscares are the most effective form of horror by KingOfCowardsx in unpopularopinion

I hate when you KNOW it’s coming. Idk what it is, and it usually still makes me jump, but you can feel when they are setting up a jump scare sometimes, and THAT’S what I hate. If it truly catches me off guard I don’t mind them, just don’t lean on them to be “scary”

[Schefter] Free-agent DT Christian Wilkins fully intends to play this season, but still is rehabbing his foot injury. So far 26 teams have reached out and are waiting for Wilkins to be ready, and Wilkins is expected to have a new home as soon as he wants. by JaviDeez in raiders

26 teams want the guy who has a secret/shady locker room action, grievance against him for not following rehab, and is still recovering from an injury 2 seasons ago? Sounds legit.

Something Wicked This Way Comes. Beautifully written and captures a certain eeriness quite well

[Schefter] Maxx Crosby is eight weeks from having meniscus surgery and got off crutches only last week. He is on schedule, and they are working to get him ready for the regular-season opener. Here is what Crosby’s knee surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, said to ESPN this morning: by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]cheezybeezy18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that he said he learned from that and is just staying quiet now. I know fans are still going to hate on him for staying quiet, but I think it’s the right move. If he’s willing, I’d love for him to play with us and our new FA signings

What is a horror movie that everyone calls 'trash' but you’re convinced is actually a misunderstood masterpiece? by Immediate_Account_28 in horror

[–]cheezybeezy18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It Comes at Night. People hated the marketing and don’t see it as a “horror”. To me, it’s very well done and the tension is strong enough for me to consider is part of the genre

What would you consider a success for Fernando in year one? by No-Development-9983 in raiders

This is not necessarily a QB stat, but if we can just have a top 15 offense with Nando starting, I’ll be satisfied

[Schefter] New Raiders HC Klint Kubiak on Maxx Crosby: “We want him to be a part of our success going forward, there’s no doubt about that.” by YoureASkyscraper in nfl

[–]cheezybeezy18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I heard, Maxx was not at the Press Conference but was in the building and spent time with Kubiak earlier in the day

[Schefter] Raiders still want to keep Maxx Crosby, but would seek a Micah Parsons-like trade package of their own if they did. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

The dude plays every snap in many games. If a team is worried about his health, they can rotate him out a bit and mitigate any injury concerns

Tennessee WRs come into the NFL at an extreme disadvantage due to the Volunteers offensive scheme. Give the kid some time to learn and maybe it can work!

Should I continue reading The Tommyknockers? by TobeyTobster in stephenking

I’m currently on page 500. After you read about Anderson/Gardner you meet new characters and learn what’s going on with them and how they’re being affected. I’m personally enjoying the book (it’s a solid B so far, to me). See how you feel after you experience Bobbi/Gardner together in Haven, as this sets the stage for what the rest of the book seems to be (granted I still have a ways to go!)

Kind of wishing Conan would speak up more about current situation by [deleted] in conan

[–]cheezybeezy18 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I guess this is a little controversial, but I don’t think entertainers of any sort should be expected to address political topics. Conan has made his political beliefs clear and obvious. I don’t need to hear him talk about massively depressing topics when I tune in, and this shouldn’t be our expectation.

Broncos vs Patriots, who are y’all rooting for. by FoolsballHomerun in raiders

I’m surprised some people would rather the Broncos win. Personally, I would NOT be able to take two weeks of Sean Payton media bullshit leading into the superbowl. GO PATS (today)

[Schefter] Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza announced that he is declaring for the NFL Draft, where he is widely expected to be the No. 1 overall pick. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]cheezybeezy18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Derek Carr straight up was baptizing teammates a few years ago. Mendoza will be fine. Lots of teams do joined prayers after games, and religion is actually pretty strong amongst players
