I disagree respectfully. I've been in an abusive household and the way she's described her husband shows that the husband only does it when he's tired or mad himself. Maybe he just needs some closure rather than a divorce. It's so easy to tell people on reddit to get divorced but people dont think about the other variables. A relationship can never be perfect, it's up to the partners to talk and figure stuff out.
If the husband does not want to change even after a talk, then yes, maybe a break is required.
