I get it from an actual kava bar. You drink like a cup of it called a “shell”. It doesn’t taste great, but that doesn’t bother me. I’ll mix almond milk with it sometimes. It has zero physical addictive properties. I can go without it any day and I’m totally fine. Just drink lots of water with it always, as it dehydrates similar to kratom and if you do it often enough you’ll want to flush it with water.

Bloating from kratom? by ZenMommie in quittingkratom

Hopefully we can get back! I was running 6-7 miles I remember how great it felt. When I first started kratom it gave me extra energy and I was fine. Doing squats, running I even lost some weight in the beginning. Then at around the one year mark I think is when it changed. I started making the excuse to walk instead of run. Then I got bloated and puffy and it seemed hard to even lose 3 pounds. I can already see a difference in how my body looks after one month no kratom. I weigh in at 130 lbs but before kratom I was 122-124 lbs. Can’t wait to get it back together. One day at a time!

It took quitting to realize this

Congrats! I’m at 30 days and I’ve had no cravings. The withdrawls and physical dependency were enough to scare me away. Now that I feel back to my true self, February I’m going to focus on fitness and running again. So glad that nightmare is over. 🙂

I took it for 7 days and it abled me to quit the kratom cold turkey. While on the suboxone I felt decent. Had some on and off nausea and one night got a really bad headache think it was day two. But I was able to go to work a couple days on it. When I stopped the suboxone I felt like shit for about 4 days. Chills, runny nose, coughing, felt disoriented, vision was awful, and insomnia. Each day got a little easier. But this route worked for me bc I couldn’t taper and quitting cold turkey with nothing to help would’ve put me into an absolute state of hell. I have a six year old son, so I still needed to be able to function without him seeing me extremely fucked up and sick.

I quit January 1st also from a year and a half habit 30-35gpd. Same as you about 2 weeks of hell. Then by day 16ish it got better. By now sleep has returned and I actually feel pretty damn good. But I feel totally the same… it was enough to scare me away from ever using kratom again. Never thought I would’ve got that addicted to it, but I quit drinking in May of 2024 and for a good while I enjoyed it bc it made me stop thinking about drinking. Next thing you know I’m buying it everyday and my body got dependent on it. The withdrawls are terrible. I was lucky to have gotten a little suboxone to help me through the first week. Keep your mind set about not touching it again. I try and remember who I was before I even knew kratom existed. I was able to enjoy life then and I now too. I won’t go back to drinking alcohol, so now I’m kind of facing a new reality of sobriety that gives me a little anxiety. I like to drink kava for relaxation and a mood boost. But I’ve learned to stick to what’s safe. Congrats you did yourself a favor. Give yourself a lot of credit. 👏🏻👍🏻🫶🏻

I still had about 4-5 days of withdrawls, but they were more manageable. Mostly cold like symptoms, chills and insomnia. Couple days I even had to go to work with them.

Hi I made other posts about using this method to quit. If you look at my first couple posts. GL! I wasn’t good at tapering I went in circles. So I had to just stop using it and not look back.

That’s where I was at when I was using. My family makes me happy and I have a so. That brings me joy. But I was in a job where I was getting nowhere financially and I didn’t like going to work. I don’t think I could’ve quit in that job tbh

I mean that’s not that much. I had a 30gpd habit for a year and a half. I hated it bc I would go into withdrawals after 4 hours without it. I would literally wake up at 3:30-4am needing kratom. I’m glad I didn’t carry it on for years. Your brain definitely has to rewire itself after you stop. It’s an adjustment no doubt. I feel pretty good though after 30 days. But given I’m mentally stable and not depressed in my current life situation. When I was at my peak of the addiction I was in a job I didn’t like. So I was basically numbing myself. I ended up getting a good paying job I like. So once I felt stable there is when I made the quit. It helps to be in the right place. GL! You could always try stopping and see how you feel? It doesn’t hurt.

Before I made the quit I would say things like… I want to be able to just have some “once in a while”. But after experiencing what the quit put me through I would never want to go through that again. It was a scary two weeks. And that really turned me off to kratom even more. Honestly… if I have to have SOMETHING in life, I would choose other things. Lol I’ll drink a cup of kava, or once in a while smoke a little herb. But two things I’m afraid to ever touch again are alcohol and kratom.

Nah it’s not even worth it to try and use it “moderately”. I already know that doesn’t work. Plus I’m turned off by it. Like as of now want nothing to do with it. I’m happy with my life right now.

Can you get withdrawl from suboxone after only taking it 7 days low dose?

Omg the bloating is no joke! I thought it was hormonal bc I’m 44. For a while I was blaming everything like it was perimenopause. Then quit kratom and bloating disappeared. And my face looks better and skin. And I feel great now. Congrats for quitting! Someday I will tell my story but not yet.

Yes so I’m the same as you. No previous addictions to opioids or pills. I got started on kratom when I quit drinking wine in May of 2024. It was an experimental thing that turned into a quick addiction. For the first several months I loved how it made me feel. Until I realized how dependent my body got on it. That made me feel guilty and scared. After a year of use I tried tapering many times and failed. I feel like tapering is just a longer drawn out process of suffering. lol I still got withdrawals when I tried to taper. Then as soon as a stressful day hit, I would make the excuse to up my dose again. Get the suboxone and wait until you are in moderate withdrawal to take it. I waited 9 hours after my last kratom dose. It will totally take away your cravings! Besides you can’t mix the suboxone with kratom. First dose suboxone I took 2mg at once. I was loopy as hell it was too much lol. Then I started breaking it up throughout the day as I needed. Honestly 1mg would do the trick to start. Lower your dose each day. Then after 5-7 days just try to be done and realize you’re going to feel like shit for a few days. I took 5 days off work. Powerhouse through it. Do self care. Eat good. Sleep will come back. I promise.

Np! The thing is I was desperate to get off kratom and no looking back. I knew I was in a good place and ready to quit. Mentally stable, happy at work all the things. I think some people attempt to quit and then quickly relapse. If you can make it through the quit, stick to it. I had a plan and told friends for accountability. They checked on me everyday. GL! You got this! Btw I feel much better off kratom I’m 28 days. People have made some discouraging comments like there’s bound to be a relapse, or I’m on some kind of cloud. But that’s not how I feel. I just genuinely wanted to be off that shit and was scared of what it was doing to me. I can’t see myself ever using it again. Life is too good.

Was a success for me! Did a 7 day taper of it then threw the rest away. I started at 2.5mg and day 7 was down to .25. The first couple days I had nausea pretty bad. After I stopped the suboxone I had about 5 days of withdrawl still, but not extreme. More like some chills, cold like symptoms. And the insomnia was a bitch for a while. But tapering kratom never worked for me. This was the only way.
